Water retention will show as edema in the legs and a rapid increase in your weight. Metabolic panel will tell you if the liver is affected.

Thanx I have monthly blood test Tuesday so by Friday will know results. Weight has not increased or water in legs I think it’s liver or kidney toxicity in some form again

Your MO might switch you from prednisone. Prednisolone is more expensive but it doesn't tax the liver as much as prednisone. It also might help reduce kidney stress.

Prednisone vs Prednisolone - What's the difference?

Dexamethasone seems to be the preferred option to prednisone

get your gallbladder checked as well. Zytiga is fat soluble and can result in high gallbladder numbers. there are several good adjunctive care modalities that can help

I'm on Zytiga for about four years now along with Prendisone also PSA 0.1. I don't have enough fingers to count the life changing things that happen to our bodies. I'm also so very grateful to still be alive. I asked my Doctor in 2018 to promise me he would keep me alive to watch my Grandkids grow up so far so good. Never give up Never surrender. Leo

Have been on Zytiga 1000mg & prednisolone 10mg for 4 yrs 3 months. PSA at 0.01 for that time. Am now experiencing extreme fatigue and stomach discomfort and am considering halving the dosage as am NHS co-pay which is proving too expensive at £1800. per month. Am wondering do I take food with lower dosage? Also can’t understand why MO has kept me on full dosage for so long as most people on this blog seem to reduce after 2 years! Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had to reduce to 500gm after 2 months as you see from my comments as liver toxicity known from monthly blood tests. For 15 months I have taken zytiga at least one hour before food. 7am 5gm prednisone with food PSA been < 0.01 for a year but like you stomach discomforts and fatigue increased more recently whether I need to reduce the dosage to 250gms daily as sometime it’s know your take a medicine at too higher dosage and not needed can irritate your stomach so when I next have telephone appointments with my urologist I will discuss this situation. Electrician I hope you get sorted and my thoughts help you

I don’t pay for my medication I omitted to say to you. Your cost seems very expensive … !!!

Did you have other treatments before you took Zytiga? As I refused chemo that was my only option but was told it was not available on the NHS . As this was under review my MO said I would probably only have to pay for it for 1 year! Once you start on co-pay they won’t give it you free but if you were diagnosed during Covid anyone could get it! Sod’s law! I am going to try half dosage and see how I get on and intend to tell my Oncologist next time he phones .

That is terrible - the MO should do something about it! Is it cheaper to get a generic version? Not sure if it's available in UK but you could ask the MO maybe?
