Hmm...Why the endless ads for testosterone boosters!?πŸ€”

I tapered off Zytiga and prednisone exactly 1 year ago ( off Lupron 2.5) and my T is slowly increasing.

I've never thought of using a synthetic supplement to hasten the process.

Assuming that T is or might be a causative factor for APC, why would otherwise healthy men take and sellers push this product?

I think I know the answer, just looking for other insights.

Fear of aging and losing their perceived sexual performance with women.

As for sellers, Profit, (I'm a card carrying capitalist) just put out a safe, well researched medical product.

BTW, I'm still taking L-Arginine and R-Lipoic Acid (slowly helping with old,but mild peripheral neuropathy in my feet.

Thanks!!

It's not a causative factor.

Aggressive factor, after the fact?

Most of those men have low testosterone but not no testosterone (castrate level). Low testosterone is all it takes to fully stimulate the androgen receptors. It's like adding water to an already sopping wet sponge - it doesn't get any wetter. It's called "saturation theory."

As always, well said and explained.

Low testosterone is a very common development in men as they age. So it is a big target for marketing. Those products probably do nothing to actually correct low testosterone. But testosterone replacement therapy does. And it does a man good in several ways, as long as he does not have a prostate cancer that grows in response to testosterone above castrate levels. However, most cases are powerfully helped with ADT and AR drugs to prolong survival, even though they are not in themselves curative.Apparently you are no longer in that category -being presumptively "cured". Congratulations and hoping this is permanent for you. You are allowed the benefits of recovered testosterone to normal, even high-normal levels. Your body would like that! Many men never recover testosterone to normal after being on ADT. It would be appropriate, in my opinion, to request testosterone replacement in that situation. Tall Allen has reported that he, himself is on TRT after being cured of prostate cancer.

Testosterone replacement in men has actually not been shown to be a cause of prostate cancer, though it may accelerate it if present and undiagnosed. Good luck to you sir!

Thanks!

The reason for this post was to question the potential consequences for undiagnosed men with APC using the over the counter supplements.

Now, regarding TRT, I found this on Web MD:

For the same reason Delta 8 and Delta 10 are sold and minors using it. $$$.

No. T is NOT causative factor for PCa. In fact, men who has normal high T prior to developing Pca have milder form of the disease if they get it. Men with initial Low T tend to have more aggressive Pca.However, After getting diagnosed with PCa, the dynamic changes. In men with Pca, T and DHT acts by stimulating growth of Pca cells up to a certain high level.

Very high T used in BAT is supposed to thwart the growth of PCa (basic premise of BAT)

Hmm..." Avena Sativa and Stinging Nettle"?

I'm clopping over to Amazon right now to check it out!🐎

However, I'll pass on Green Oat Grass.

Before 25 days of IMRT, my RO suggested I take Metamucil to avoid potential episodes of diarrhea. It worked and I still take 6 caps daily.

Thinking that if I add Green Oat Grass, I'll NEVER leave the bathroom!!😁

Nal, you haven't led me astray yet (as I wash down 1000mg of L-Arginine)!πŸ˜€

I'll give em a shot.

Thanks!

Back in November, you mentioned L-Arginine and R-Lipoic Acid. I did my due diligence and ordered both.

I take L-A in the morning and 600mg of R-L with my dinner.

Oh, I see that I mentioned both in an earlier reply...πŸ˜•

Years ago I used to feast on Green Oat Grass but ended up with a bad back. Bending over to eat the grass does take a toll on your back.....

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
