Hello, I am new to this resource. I have Aggressive Variant/mCRPC Cancer since 2018. Currently participating in a unique clinical trial at MDA involving Niraparib oral pills daily and monthly intravenous dose of centrelimab immunotherapy.
Had a blood draw this past Friday morning and CEA marker has tripled in the course of one week and PSA continues to rise.
Anyone have knowledge about CEA and/or similar rising test results? Trying to understand if it reflects a turn in cancer medication effectiveness. Previously my CEA levels have always been stable and within defined normal range.

CEA (CarcinoEmbronic Antigen) is a biomarker for Colon cancer and /or aggressive prostate cancer.Should see a GastroEnterologist to make sure that you do not have carcinogenic polyps or colon cancer...With .Colonoscopy the Doctor can see these clearly and can even remove them in same sitting. Ruling out Colon Cancer is necessary before blaming PCa for rising CEA .
CEA and PSA are cancer markers. It probably means that your experimental therapy is not working. Your oncologist will probably want to confirm that with a PET scan. IHC and genomics may suggest another line of therapy.
