Here is what I have determined. My PSA has been pretty accurate in determining my cancer.
My oncologist recommended SBRT, since I had 4 tumors in my bones, following up with Lupron/Xtandi:. However, he was ok with me just taking Lupron. He did no urge me to take the Xtandi . For me, the less medications, the better, if I really don't need it. After 3 months from my SBRT treatment, my PSA is at 0.008.
If I was to use the combo,.. there are other drugs that work,... why not use them too? Why not use them all? Where can I draw the line?
My point is,.. if I can do fine just on the Lupron,..that is what I will do. I have a CT scan coming up in 3 months,.. then a PET scan,.. If if shows anything... then I will adjust my meds to what the doc has to say. I have read that eventually the meds don't work, and then I would try something different?
I am walking 6 miles a day,.. and someone said to add weight lifting. I think I will start doing that.
I appreciate all the suggestions and advice! We are all in the same fight.. am glad for this forum. ππ

You are NOT doing "just fine." Your PSA does NOT tell you the full story about what is going on with your cancer.
One "draws the line" based on what has been learned from randomized clinical trials. In general, most meds work better when used earlier.
For example, among men who started taking Xtandi + Lupron when they were first diagnosed, 71% were still alive 4 years later; compared to only 57% still alive 4 years later if they only took Lupron. Another way to look at it is the time it took a quarter of the men to die - about 42 months if the took Xtandi vs about 12 months without Xtandi.
I realise that your fear of Xtandi is based on reading some bad experiences to it but many including myself are tolerating it quite well. Also you always have the option to lower the dose or change treatment if you do react badly. You would do well to take your oncologist's initial advice and start Xtandi now. As Tall_Allen has explained, clinical trial evidence shows that will give you a better likely outcome down the road. Of course, ultimately the decision is yours alone and I wish you well.
