Just heard from my GP after blood draw. Upshot is my folate has dropped fairly drastically to double digits from the mid hundreds. I noticed a drop in my hemoglobin as well..understandably…I’ve always been a little anemic.
The good news was my RBC morphology was normal.

Normocytic anemia (normal size red blood cells) is caused by lack of testosterone and it is usually present in people with advanced prostate cancer treated with ADT and/or anti androgens. The bone marrow produces less normal red blood cells. It is not related to folate levels.
Ok….but low folate isn’t so good despite normal RBC morphology. I’m not worried, just curious. I have been treating myself topically with effudex as I’m trying to put my face and neck cancer lesions to death…again. As an aside, I’ve become somewhat warty in my advancing years so I petitioned my GP to script me a course of guardasil9….now I sound completely obsessed, but I saw a blurb on the vaccine as effective in limiting HEAD and Neck cancers…what the f
Getting back the effudex …apparently it can interact with folate..gotta wait to see how it goes now that I’ve stopped thr Tx.
Anemia for about 4 years now. It is a cross I bear. If you see an albatross, it will certainly shit on you. Don't plant mulberry trees. You won't be able to see out of your windshield. I don't know anything about folate. Or much else for that matter. Hope you have good luck with that.
