I thought I was having occasional UTIs but now I think I may have had a chronic (and still might) infection and that antibiotics never completely cured the infection.
I sort of remember that the first few months of ADT (firmagon and zytiga and prednisone) were not that bad. Then things really began to decline, very little energy and muscle weakness. This recently climaxed to the point that I was considering suicide. I could barely walk across the room, some days. If it was going to be like this or worse, count me out.
I now feel so much better I can't believe i was suicidal a few days ago. I am pretty sure the UTI was actually responsible for a lot of my "side effects" I took a one dose antibiotic which seemed strange, it must be something really potent? Fosfomycin.
So I need to pay closer attention to symptoms (but the problem is that they vary so much day to day and hour to hour i can't figure out a threshold at which i should do something) and maybe get on prophylactic antibiotics.
Anyone with chronic UTIs and what was the solution?

Sadly, there is no good solution for chronic prostatitis. My friend takes Elavil (amitriptyline) - an older tricyclic antidepressant - whenever he has an outbreak, but it takes a week or two to kick in. No one is sure why it helps, but he says it does. Here's an article about it:
My reaction to this is that the UTI and its treatment is coincidental to the fatigue and depression. For me, ADT SEs waxed and waned constantly, and I never could predict how I would feel on any one day. Suicide was often on my mind, but for a few days I had strange euphoria.
If you're going the antidepressant route, you should get a DNA test to determine which one(s) will work for you.
Best of luck.
I had constant uti’s for almost two years . A foley and tubes out of kidneys then internal stents all prescribed bad antibiotics until I grew immune to them all except bactrim . Nasty stuff. I too had bad ideations during those times. It’s demeaning . Good news for me was the day the last stent came out . No more uti’s. I’m pulling for you to escape this . Good luck .
No one ever mentioned a stent for me probably because the contracture is at my bladder sphincter so a stent would mean full time peeing I think that Bactrim did cure one of my UTIs. Hopefully the culture will show the best antibiotic and I can finally get over this.
Am picking up gallons of cranberry when i go to town. Also doing some miracle clenze that i don't think can hurt?
I know this hell that you’re going through . My uro told me “ Infections, infections, infections, are the scourge of urology” I’m pulling for a fix ASAP . Then you can heal .. 🙏
