Update: Anesthesia and Xtandi

Has anyone had to be given general anesthesia while taking Xtandi? My hubby will be starting Xtandi probably next week but also has a colonoscopy scheduled for 7/13/21. We have no clue if this is a concern. Will try to contact his oncologist and even the drug manufacturer to get info, but also info from this group is appreciated too.

Our oncologist suggested starting the Xtandi after the colonoscopy.

Hubby is on it and in one month PSA went from 48 to 28.

I had a colonoscopy 8 months after starting Xtandi. No problem and I don't have colon cancer to add to the beast prostate cancer I am fighting.

My husband, Vandy69 passed away last year and will not be able to answer your inquiry. I am sorry. Good luck.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Cancer is terrible. I wish more progress would be made.

Definitely keep the two separated. Xtandi can be very unpleasant, and is obscenely expensive (almost $20K /month !) which my insurance didn’t fully cover—adding to treatment stress.
