I was taking Xtandi and developed a rash in a few places. my oncologist insisted on getting me off of this medication.. I went to the dermatologist and he explained that he has been able to help people stay on medication even if they develop a rash. The dermatologist did a biopsy and contacted the oncologist..
the medication Xtandi brought my PSA down very well.
what are your thoughts about me going back on Xtandi with the help of the dermatologist

My gut feeling is to go back on the Enzalutamide (Xtandi) with the support of your dermatologist. I've been on Xtandi since July 2020 and it has worked really well so far, although no rash. Good luck to you sir.
I’ve been on Xtandi for nearly 6 years and have broken out in heavy itchy rashes ( mostly waist down, but sometimes arms too ) several times. My pcp prescribed hydroxyz for me and it stops itching and clears up. Hydroxyz makes me sleepy tho. Hydrocortisone 10 is soothing for my itchy part too.
Imho, it’s FAR more important to keep your aPCa sleeping with Xtandi if it works for you. Going thru your medical support team is always your first and best choice, imho.
Antihistamines block histamine, alleviating discomfort related to a drug reaction. The medication is taken by mouth, typically for a few weeks. An over-the-counter antihistamine may be effective, or your doctor may give you a prescription.
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
