My ARV-110 trial update

HopingForTheBest1 profile image

Yesterday (5/4/21) I had blood work, bone scan and CT with contrast to evaluate effectiveness of ARV-110 after 8 weeks of usage. Unfortunately, PSA has continued to rise (from 6 to 9 in one month) and lesion in my back, in the soft tissue by the 7th rib, has grown. So , the drug has been ineffective and the trial has been stopped for me. Better to know sooner than later so that I can move on to the next treatment option, whatever that may be.

Well heck. All the locations were stopped? I thought ARV-110 was to prevent metastasis, not resolve it. Or was it both.

No, just me. No idea about any other locations or participants.

So sorry to hear the disappointing results. My brothers PSA dropped close to 89% in the first four weeks. The doctor couldn’t believe it took such a drastic drop so quickly. We were so thrilled and thought for sure this was going to work for him for a while. Unfortunately it started climbing and rose pretty quickly. By the end of the second month he stopped the trial. The T878 a mutation he had that was known to respond, grew from a single digit percentage to 48% over those two months. So much for that trial. Have you considered Keytruda?

Tagawa told me that he will be starting a trial in the next few weeks using LU177 + AC225 + Keytruda. I know that Keytruda by itself will not work for me as I am MSS and have a low tumor burden. But, Keytruda in combination could be effective.

I now have to look at as many possible treatment options as I can in order to decide which way to go next. I have not had any chemo as of yet; this may be now the time to consider it as Carboplatin (possibly with Docetaxl) could be effective for those like me who are BRCA2+

Where will you be doing LU-177 and AC-225 ? Adding Keytruda sounds great.

Weill Cornell in NY. Have not yet made a decision as I have several options to research.

I paid for my LU-177 and AC-225 at the university of Heidelberg. Four visits . PSA is less than 0.1. What can I say?

You did LU177 and AC225 together? How long ago were you in Germany for treatment, as COVID continues to affect international travel?

I went three times in 2019 and once in July 2020. You might check with the University of Heidelberg if the Germans are allowing travel to Germany for medical purpose. This is what they did for me in 2020

I understand the University of Heidelberg developed this treatment.

I'm so sorry it didn't work - most new therapies don't work. You may be interested in one of the xofigo combinations or one of the Lu-177-PSMA trials:

We talked to Dr Tawaga and the program there. They seem very helpful. Did you have any side effects?

For me ARV-110 contributed to worsening fatigue and memory issues, as well as leg muscle tightness and weight gain.

Oh boy. No fun........,,forgot what I was going to say. 🤤. And I’m not the one talking the medication. We are hoping for a clinical trial for my husband. But your post is reminding me to keep my head on and not lose my balance if we don’t get the response we are looking for. Thanks for posting.
