Scans for my Father came back as "some worsening" throughout. Xtandi did not work, and with PSA rising and aggressive disease we are headed for Jevtana + prednisone on Friday. What has been some experiences for the members with Jevtana? Any recommendations? Did eating ice work for anyone when it came to taste changes?
Also does anyone with metastasis to bone also have a orthopedic oncologist on their care team?
Hope all is well out there!!!

My husband received 10 rounds of Jevtana, he tolerated it very well. He would take an ice bag w/him and place it on his head (as headache was his biggest complaint). He had no nausea, no hair loss, did experience fatigue and body aches for a few days after Infusion. He also had bone mets that were later treated w/Radium 223 (6 rounds). He's been in remission for almost 2yrs now and doing very well. His Medical Oncologist (Dr. Nicholas Vogelzang in Las Vegas) handled all of his treatments. Sending love n light for your loved one ♡
Yes, he had 10 rounds of Jevtana first, then 6 rounds of Radium 223. He was in Zytiga throughout this treatment and yes he's in remission for almost 2yrs.
Wow that's great! My father is on xtandi but it has stopped working. He doesn't have any visible progression on his scans but his PSA is going up. His MO has said she wants to start radium 223 then jevtana ....thank you for sharing your story. That is amazing that he is in remission. ✨🤗
My understanding is that chemo is first THEN radiation. Praying your loved one is in good medical hands. Not sure where you live, but I would be looking at 2nd opinion.
