Optum Rx no longer covers Lynparza as of Jan 1 2021

Got a letter yesterday that Optum Rx, my Medicare prescription plan, will no longer cover my Lynparza med. Have been on it for almost 2 years with no out of pocket costs, and has been very effective in controlling my PSA. Now I will apparently be subject to a retail price of over $13,000 per month???? How in the world is anyone expected to afford that? And even after recent FDA approval? Can't believe it.

Astra Zeneca does offer a subsidy program for patients whose joint income is less than $82,300 per year. I will pursue it.

Worth a try - If not already done, ask your MO to contact the insurance provider and explain/support your request for exception to policy.

You could Sign Up For MyLYNPARZA. Patient Support Program. See you MO or Uro.

That site does not allow me to sign up because it is for ovarian or breast cancer patients only.

Would you consider trying the other FDA approved PARP inhibitor: rucaparib?

What about switching to Nubequa?

I hope you find an acceptable resolution to your problem.I had a bad experience with Optum. They really dragged their feet on approving eligard for my treatment. I had to get on the phone for more than an hour with my medicare plan F provider to resolve the issue. There was absolutely no reason or excuse for their lack of action. It left a bad impression. I will never select Optum in the future, ever.
