Relief of abdominal bloating and gas pain

I am having a lot of abdominal bloating and gas pain since starting Xtandi. I have been taking Simethicone 180 mg soft gels, gas relief and prevention enzyme supplement 1 capsule per day, and probiotic colon support 1 capsule per day. These have helped a little but it is still greatly affecting daily quality of life. Has anyone found anything that might be more effective?

We are not on Xtandi but have you tried kefir? If you drink dairy the best probiotic is homemade kefir.. and it is so simple a 5 year old can make it. You can buy the grains online.. I think Kombucha Kamp has the best cultures. her grains always work. .and she has good customer support. You get some milk.. can be low fat or whole milk .. add your kefir grains to the milk let it sit 24-48 hours.. strain the grains and drink the kefir.. and add more milk to the grains. Dairy Kefir is the best source of probiotics.. Since we do not do dairy we are limited to water kefir and kombucha.. not as great a source of probiotics as dairy kefir... but it is ok. My husband does not like water kefir and lately has not been drinking the kombucha.. so I throw the probiotic powder in his smoothie.

Also drink plenty of water/fluid.

Another recommendation.. which is going to sound kind of strange, the gas neutralizing pads from amazon can be helpful. Chemo really causes a lot of gas for my husband and these helped him when he is at work.

My wife swears by activated charcoal capsules. You can buy bottles of them online from Puritan's Pride--very inexpensive.

Only warning would be to watch when you take them, or they could absorb your Xtandi or other meds.

ERs use activated charcoal in poisonings, so they do work.

My wife claims if you take several capsules before you plan to drink alcohol at an event, that you will have little effects from the drinks. I say that defeats the purpose....

I'm not on Xtandi or chemo but I use to get severe and so painful bloating as if i were 8 months pregnant. Scans showed nothing. Never found out why but my doctor suggested I try Dycyclomine because I've tried different probiotics and different gas meds. Just one 10 mg capsule a night has kept me pain and swollen free for months now. It caused me a little blurred vision in the beginning and I'm sure it may not be for everyone. I'm so sorry because I know this is severely painful.
