No Benefit With Longer Course of ADT in Localized, High-RiskProstate Cancer

Thank you for posting this.
I hope I am interpreting this incorrectly, but does this mean that men who were treated for 24 months or more with ADT + EBRT and suffered penis shrinkage plus the other usual multi side effects, done so unnecessarily?
I believe (at least in my case) the shrinkage occurs after 18 months or more of ADT plus RT . I was on LUPRON for 24 months + 39 fractions of EBRT 78 Gys.
The patients in the study also had a brachytherapy boost added to the radiation of the prostate.
Yep, had HDR-BT plus 18 months ADT and it seems the last six months did the most damage.
Looks like good news to me: Approaching 90% had no BCR nor death after 9 years follow up. And can stop ADT at six months.
Thanks for sharing. A very important study indeed. Like many others, I am a G9 with a localized disease. Have 2 months of ADT behind me and am about to start 44 sessions of IMRT. The plan is for 24 months of ADT but if my numbers are good I will be thinking hard about lobbying for less.
wonder how this would compare with Proton with a boost?
