Combines well with Xofigo. Probably with chemo too.

I did the Provenge treatment several years ago. I took care of some nodules in my lungs. The only downside was that tube sticking out of my chest for six weeks, But it was worth it.

There have been quite a few similar Posts/Replies here about Provenge in the past. You can find and browse them at your leisure by doing a Search for "Provenge" in the Search HealthUnlocked box at the upper right of the page.

I had Provenge 18 months ago. The process is pretty easy just very long and boring. Make sure you use the bathroom before they do the first part of drawing out your white blood cells because you're sitting there for like three hours and they tell you not to move. I didn't have the port they just hooked me up through the veins in my arms. The side effects come when they infuse the Provenge back into you a few days later . I got some flu like symptoms only lasted a few hours. Good luck. Leo

Probably TMI but......Age 76 in Feb......2 homes ... Cincinnati and Palm Bay, FL,....Gleason 10x6 then 5-7 other sites Dec 2018.....Prostatectomy Jan 2019 with the Urology GroupIn Cinci (Dr Delworth) ....

PSA started to rise between Mar 2019 and Jun 2019 .... Had first Lupron shot at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland at second opinion visit in Jul 2019 .... Dr Delworth added Zytiga also on July 2019....PSA has been undetectable with monthly blood tests since....Oncologist in Cleveland Clinic Vero beach (Dr Patterson) helped develop Provence at Moffitt in Tampa and has suggested Provenge if PSA starts to rise ....Dr Delworth in Cinci also can do..... So I am treated in Cinci by Delworth and Dr Patterson on Vero Beach FL.....PSA still undetectable as of Dec 1 ....next blood work in January....Have been incontinent since prostatectomy and are planning artificial sphincter in Cinci when I can....First must deal with possible hip replacement....am very active with training dogs for sheep herding and working on farm where we train ...walk dogs (3) for about a mile early each am also....plus farm work....

PS ...MRI for hip Nov 4 showed NO bone or lymph cancer issues..

I did have some inactive “lesions” on spine and hip in PET/CT scan in Jan 2020 but NO activity in MRI in Nov..

So hanging in there.......On Zytiga, Prednisone, and Lupron for now....

Thank you sir for your quick and detiled response. It may be a good idea to copy and paste it in your home page for future referral and reference.

I am glad your undetectable and "still hanging in there". While you're waiting for you sphincter operation you may want to order depends by the case from Costco. Good price and mailed to you in an unmarked carton.

I just enjoy watching boarder collies herding sheep.... I wish I had one when I was married to my ex-wife.... could have kept her away from me..... anyway hope your hip replacement works easy... Great hip doctor in NYC affiliated with Hospital for special surgery (Dr. Fritz Boettner is a specialist in joint-preserving arthroscopic surgery and minimally invasive total joint replacements of the knee and hip).

Take care and Regards and keep posting here (great site).....

Took Provenge for 3 sessions 3 months. Pain free in legs in beginning then each treatment the bone pain in legs increased dramatically. To the point that shot 3 in the cycle of my legs were in such pain I could hardly walk.Figured if this is the results of 3 treatments of 6 I'd be in a wheelchair by treatment 5, with no appreciable gain in cancer "remission". I chose to cease treatments after #3.

I can not imagine where I' s be if I agreed to straight Xgeva every month.where I'm d be today. (Proli a is a small amount of Xgeva every 3 months ).

My personal experience. Trust yours is successful and pain free.

Yes, we have 3 border collies and they are reasonably well trained on sheep.Wife works at farm every day. I am the ant killer, fence repairer, and grass cutter.

Owner has a tough 60 in, zero turn mower I love to use.

I just finished my Provenge April 15th. It’s 3 treatments - takes 5 weeks total counting the off weeks (weeks 1/3/5 are treatment weeks - 2/4 are off weeks). I did Leukapharesis Monday, then infused the Sipucel-T on Thursday...only had a reaction to the infusions on the 3rd one, and it was long after I left the hospital - about 9pm that night I had like all of the side effects at one time...as someone else said, sort of like the flu - but was fine the next day. Otherwise, was no big deal...
