Jim had labs, CT, and a bone scan on Monday. Itโs been a bit of a rollercoaster. Labs good ๐ except for PSA-Up to 49.6. ๐
Bone scan and CT showed decrease in uptake in lesions of the ribs, pelvis, and lower thoracic vertebra ๐ and new uptake in multiple upper thoracic vertebra. ๐
CT showed that Jim has a vena cava thrombosis and was immediately placed on an anticoagulant. ๐ He should only have to take meds short-term-3 months. ๐They think it is from the Central Venous Catheter he had for the Provenge infusions.
We meet with the doctor in a few weeks to discuss next steps. Thankfully, Jim is feeling relatively good. ๐

Up down and sideways, that's our life with aPca. Wish my wife would get involved, but she won't talk to anybody about it. I'm here and I run some options past her at times, but mostly on my own. At 3 1/2 years into this battle, I'm OK. Still able to do gardening, canning, house work, etc. Last 2 PSAs were rising. Next weeks test will see if I get the magic three rises in a row and start to get nervous. Sorry to hear of Jim's problems. Wish you well and hope the Provenge can do its job and improve his QOL for a while. My wife did step up this morning and tell me I can't get on a ladder, the roof and our chimney with clean out brushes. Called to have a grandson come down (10 mi) and give me a hand. Living with the new normal sucks at times, but at 70 I guess it's time to let someone help at times and not do everything myself.
