I am looking for suggestions for getting another opinion from the most advanced minds/centers for handling castration resistant metastatic prostate cancer. Something along the lines of MD Anderson? Thanks

Pick a top oncologist at almost any top center. In my experience, they all know one another , communicate with each other, and know what the others are working on. Which center is close to you?

I'm in Connecticut, so either Boston or New York are about the same distance. Not sure if I would consider Yale/New Haven as a top center. Thanks for your reply.

Yes, Dan Petrylak at Yale is certainly one of the best.

If you should go ahead and decide to make a physical visit to MD Anderson in these days of COVID-19, you might consider Dr. Padmanee Sharma. She is very "connected" to the medical professionals in the prostate cancer world, and also "consults" with dozens of the cutting edge pharma companies. She might also suggest a suitable colleague there.

Be aware of potential COVID-19 restrictions/procedures. Some Texas cities may still be on the up-swing of COVID-19 incidence.

They also have considerable resources to help plan any first visit, including travel and lodging "details". Subsequent visits might possibly be done via teleconference (depending on some State(s) legal restrictions).

Wherever you decide to consult or to be treated, Good Luck!

Yes, thanks. I'm going to call to see if they can do a telemed visit

Thanks. I'm making a list of these Docs and centers and will contact them. My MO is having my biopsy from 2 years ago genetic tested but from what I've read today on this site there seems to so much more not being done, eg. testing the mets itself. I think I'll start with Yale and then MD Anderson to see if we can do a telemed visit. Dana Farber also.

Dr Michael Morris at the Sloan Kettering in New York, Dr. Taplin at the Dana Farber in Boston. I have consulted with both of them and they are good although very conventional in their approach. They would not offer too much outside of the box unless they have a clinical trial you could qualify. Very rare if they recommend a clinical trial they are not involved with.
