I live in the Greater Cincinnati area and am seeking a second opinion regarding my treatment plan for my Advanced Prostate Cancer.
I have been on ADT for 18 months. I started Eligard injections and Xtandi. However, I had a number of cardiac events including a mild heart attack and went off the Xtandi for 9 months. After consulting with my cardiologist and a cardiologist oncologist, they ensure that none ADT drugs would have my heart in excellent shape. Now, 4 months later, I am having cardiac "events" again.
I feel I need to re-evaluate my treatment program and would like to know who/where you might recommend I go for a second opinion.
Thanks for your input.
John

Joe and I drove from Findlay, Ohio to near Chicago every 3 weeks when he was getting chem at Cancer Treatment Centers. This was before they sold to a corporation. We were not happy with most of the care after that (except for Aric the PA!)
Get yourself an interstate turnpike pass and make a brief respite of the trip! We enjoyed a nice hotel room, the pool, and dinner out every three weeks. In all the bad of chemo, it was a good way to cope.
John, have you considered the vaccine may have caused your cardiac events, and not the cancer drugs? There are a couple of doctors Listed on a site called Cancer Treatments Research who I am considering using for a second opinion for my husband.
I also had a bit of trouble with my heart, 15 years ago, with PC onset at same time. My problem was blockage, so I had a stent placed. The cardio problem I'm sure was dietary-caused. Watch your satfat intake and do not use olive oil for frying. As for the meds, I would say don't spend all your time and money when you probably have a good oncologist nearby. jmo.
John, you need to get to the James at Ohio State, Columbus. Wexner Medical Center. They are an NCI CCC and the 3rd largest Cancer hospital in the country. There are only 54 such facilities in the country. The other one in Ohio is up at the Cleveland Clinic. They are a teaching hospital with a number of trials in progress. They will put a team together for you. Only 80 miles away and they have seen it all. All the Best.
