Hi everybody. I’m posting a question for my husband. He gets these strange pains out of the blue. They can be anywhere but mostly in his arms. They’re pretty severe when it happens. One day he almost dropped to the ground. Does anybody else get anything like this? I remember a while back there was a post about a med or suppplement you could buy on Amazon. A doctor from South America had created it. I want to get it for my husband and can’t remember the name. I also want to tell you he’s on a vacation from his Zytiga. His PSA has been steady at 0.2 for quite a while now.. Doc wanted to give him a break due to cardiovascular issues. His cardiac score was 2,186. Been off Zytiga for 4 months. I Almost forgot to ask this too, he was started on Pralulent for his cholesterol. He’s allergic to statins. Last PSA draw the CMP showed Glucose 286 AST and ALT elevated. They were always at the top level but still in normal range. Now they aren’t. I think the Pralulent may be causing this since he’s not on Zytiga. However, for the first time he had a normal cholesterol level. Thanks for listening/ reading all of this. I would love your input. I appreciate this site and knowing we are not alone. Thanks so much.
Muscle pain: Hi everybody. I’m posting... - Advanced Prostate...
Muscle pain
I'm not familiar with Pralulent, but I know that a side effect of statins is myopathy (muscle pain).
Hi. So I probably should have mentioned that Pralulent is an injection you get every two weeks. It’s not a statin, it’s a monoclonal antibody.im really looking for the name of the supplement you can buy from Amazon. I believe a doctor in South America created it. I really appreciate all of your in put. Pralulent is a brand new drug for cholesterol. Mainly for people that a genetic cholesterol problem. My husband couldn’t take a statin because he would start with rhandomylosis. There seems to be si many new drugs out there it’s hard to keep up. You guys are great. Your always there when someone needs you. I just want to thank you again.
My experience is similar. I take Zytiga and Eligard. I have had an RP in 2016 and have had both myopathy and neuropathy since then at night. I feel like the myopathy has been worse since on Zytiga but could not say if there's a connection. I take tylenol and when it's bad, I take Celebrex too.
Hope that helps.
As you stated Praluent (alirocumab) injection is a PCSK9 (Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin Kexin Type 9) inhibitor antibody indicated for familial hypercholesteremia and is not a stain . There is a small percentage of persons prescribed this medication that experience both myalgia ( muscle pain) and muscle spasms , so it is conceivable that this is a side effect of the praluent but you obviously must weigh the side effects versus benefit. Of course ADT can cause muscle and joint pain as well. Best wishes
