Does anyone know the significance of an elevated Albion gap? My labs from today indicate a level 27, Can it be a side effect from ether the Lupron I have been taking for close to 8 years of the Zytiga I re-started about 6 months ago?

I believe you mean 'anion gap', which is a measurement of acid / base balance of the body. Normal being 10-16. Higher levels are indicative of acidosis.

Thx for the correction. Yes- acidosis- I saw that when I googled. But- this came out of nowhere after years of meds. Any ideas as to why?

Without other issues and not otherwise symptomatic how about repeating the test

Diabetes? Metabolic syndrome? Kidney failure? Unusual diet? What does his doctor say?

Anion gap is a mathematical calculation that 99% of the time is not important.
