I just got home from Baltimore from an appointment with Dr Sam Denmeade at Johns Hopkins... He's arranging with my local oncologist guidance so I can start BAT in a few weeks... 🤗

Congrats and best luck with this!

I am hoping he gets funding for a program for castrate sensitive next year.

If BAT doesn't live up to your QoL expectations (QoL should be amazing) I suggest asking Denmeade if Androgel might help boost the serum testosterone up a little longer. Only one trial for Androgel BAT. So he might not go for it. But worth an ask - IF QoL isn't fantastic.

Still HS and have been doing my own unsupervised version of BAT since 2016 with Cypionate resulting in T = 1,600ng/dL following injection after stabilizing. In 2 weeks it's down to 500+/- then boost again. When PSA rises to my chosen level I discontinue and Orchiectomy that I had in 2015 brings T<2.5ng/dL and the PSA down.

Resumed 4 weeks ago after stopping due to rise in PSA and got 3rd shot on Wednesday. Already feeling better but unlike many others for myself there is NO huge improvement in QoL as level rises but more of a new normal. Will gladly take it.

I see you are carefully monitoring your PSA. I am in a BAT trial and had my first injections about 3 weeks ago. My PSA went from 50 to a bit over 90 in one week and 3 weeks later reached 126. The trial managers tell me this perfectly normal - nothing to see here. If I relied on my own intuition with this rate of PSA increase, I would have stopped after day one. The good professor assures me this is a normal PSA flare even though it looks like an out of control bushfire to me. So its full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes.

Sounds like you're doing great. That's a good setup for use of cypionate.

The men I have talked to who use cypionate don't see the same QoL improvements that the half dozen or so of us using propionate/Androgel have.

My QoL was incredible when I started BAT two years ago. Age seems to play a factor for me. My QoL isn't quite as good as it was.
