I get Testosterone test every 3 months along with PSA. It has been less than 10 for the last 9 months. Is this a binary test, Below 10 or above 10
Testosterone levels: I get Testosterone... - Advanced Prostate...
Testosterone levels
No - 10 is the lower limit of that particular lab test. Anything below 20 is excellent.
Lower T is a;ways better as it indicate overall longer survival. Most labs report it as less than 10. Some labs do report a number even if its less than 10.
Les than 10 ..T is a number to celebrate.
The lab at UCSD reports mine as <0.12 ng/mL (<12ng/dL), which means this machine is not as sensitive as the one reporting <0.10.
Some labs test to the third significant digit - meaning some are scaled (low) at 0.00 while the other (more sensitive) is 0.000.
There was a time when I was tested at 2 seperate labs - one in a trial and one was private.
Within the same week, the readings came back as follows:
< - 0.02
AND
<-0.002.
That is as low as the instruments go.
I wouldn't be fixated as much on the third digit as the second (Past 0.x0) where x is greater than 1.
Excellent. Below 10 must be the limits of the machine. The limits of the machine where I am, the Texas Medical Center is below 5. It is where I was for six years until I started low dose testosterone . Without Androgel, I would be back at below 5. The clinical trial which I participated in caused me to lose the ability to produce T in any greater numbers. IMO, rejoice.
