Seems that Cannabidiol [CBD] oil is good for every health problem from cancer to hemorrhoids. A modern day panacea - or old-fashioned snake oil?

In 2014, when my wife was diagnosed with a plasmacytoma, a neighbor revealed that he had been diagnosed with (a different) cancer some years earlier & been given 3 months to live. He had done two things: gone to Germany for an experimental therapy & started using CBD oil. He said that the latter was keeping his cancer in check.

My wife was interested, so I bought some by mail, wondering whether it was legal in NC. Little did I realise that in 2019, every store on Main Street would have a sign in the window: "We Have CBD Oil!".

My wife tried it & didn't like what it did to her head. Rather than waste the 3 tubes, I started taking it before bed. There is a case to be made for using it against PCa, but I was perhaps mainly hoping for a placebo benefit. It didn't affect my head until I squeezed out the last of the first tube - it was almost twice the dose I had been using. My nocturnal trip to the toilet that night was quite an experience. Back then, some products contained more THC than was permitted.

But I lost interest before the third tube was gone. It is still in the fridge. I have been suffering from sciatica recently. Perhaps it might help? I'll give it a try.

I find that it really can help with pain and sleeping, The experiences of my friends seem to support this. Personally I prefer a little THC with mine, but if you can find a reputable brand where it really is CBD you should not have any unexpected "experiences".

I recently read a report where somebody tested a bunch of brands and very few were what they were labeled as. That should get better soon, but right now its the wild west out there.

But don't think for a second that it will attack the cancer directly. There is a lot of hype about that, and I have to admit I take Rick Simpson Oil hoping for exactly that, but I have to acknowledge that there is zero reliable evidence that it will make a difference. Hope however, springs eternal.

BTW I get my oil from a friend who got into making her own for her husband when he got cancer. She likes to help others, and is an absolute purity nut. Those people are out there if you ask around.

I am a regular user of medical cannabis (aka CBD / THC tinctures) and have been for the past year. FYI - a tincture is an oil based solution using MCT or olive oil (or similar formulations). THC / CBD are FAT soluble.

I also PAID for third party oncology blood work (RGCC Group refers) and specifically tested my PCa vs. CBD and/or THC combined and solo.

There is no direct evidence that either one is effective against fighting PCa.

I of course didn't want to take NO for an answer and continued to do extensive research on the topic.

I have concluded that CBD ( and/or THC) has no ability to deliver any type of knockout punch, but it is effective for other specific uses that I won't elaborate on here.

There is some evidence however, that medical cannabis can have secondary advantages such as fighting the formation of blood supply systems (anti-tumour) or other similar mechanisms that interrupt cancer cell activities.

More research is underway (and required). The complexity of the cannabis plant is amazing. There are a lot of cannabanoids / terpines and chemical components that are medicinal by nature that could offer stand-alone advantages.

So. to close out, don't assume this is the magic / silver bullet. You will have done so in error.

I do, however, believe that it has benefits and expect more proof in the future. You cannot consider ALL cannabis to be the same. There are hundreds of strains and hybrids. Surely, the 'generic' test can't be considered to be fully conclusive.

For what its worth, I may have benefited from it because I have responded well in treatment.

Today I am in remission and withdrawing from ADT.

So far, so good .....
