After Scans Regimen Staying Same

Had 6 month scans and there was moderate improvement in metastasis and in lymph nodes....despite PSA going up oncologist said I was still early in treatment with lupron and zytiga and would monitor closely with new scans in September...many options if needed....any thoughts?

In another post you were talikng about getting genetic testing. Did you get that? Having that done might provide you with useful information on which dierction to go with treatments.

Even with a PSA rise, it's more important to look if there is progression before going to a different treatment. As long as there is no progression, you can stay on Zytiga. PSA increase alone is not a good reason to change treatments.

You may wish to consider adding indomethacin to your regimen:

or switching from prednisone to dexamethasone:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/300...

or both is possible and see how it goes....You could hit your mets with stereotactic radiation or use other methods to hit them...depends on locations of course...

Discuss possibility of other meds but doctor said not right now

If zytiga may be failing (PSA going up) you could consider chemo, or getting in a clinical trial with niclosamide or indomethacin which could re-sensitize the cancer to zytiga:

Yes could be one of the options if Indeed failure...will see in september... doctor noted that rise in PSA was less the last 2 months..thanks tango!!

Just firmagon than lupron and zytiga...no radiation unless pain
