Curious how many are taking Arimidex with ADT
George,
Arimidex is used to control elevated estradiol [E2]. The usual dose is 0.5 mg three times weekly.
For many men, E2 & T (testosterone) go in opposite directions, except that E2 is not a problem for men with high-normal T.
With the metabolic syndrome [MetS], there is more chance of T being close to the T cutoff for hypogonadism (350 ng/dL) & E2 being above 30 pg/mL.
But E2 is mostly produced by the aromatization of T, and with ADT, E2 is generally <20 pg/mL. (There is no need for Arimidex unless E2 is >30 pg/mL.)
In fact, if E2 falls below 12 pg/mL, a low-dose E2 patch should be used to bring E2 up. I would use 20 pg/mL as the target. It might not be necessary to use a daily patch to achieve that.

Not a good idea- estrogen is especially important for bone health, lean muscle mass, and controlling hot flashes when on ADT.
