Anyone taking Orgovyx (ADT)? If so, how do you compare your side effects to Lupron?

Are you taking Orgovyx (ADT)? If so, how do you compare your side effects to Lupron?

I will share my experience after I hear what others have to say. There may not be more than a couple of you taking it, since it just entered the market recently.

Side effects suppose to be the same as Lupron. I'm starting this new drug in June. Love to hear your feedback. I know that this new drug is suppose to be easier on your heart. Best Wishes.

yes, it is easier on the heart, the side effects the past two months have been very minimal. My stool is totally different though. It's all nuggests, pellets instead of a tube stool. The drug is drying out the intestines' in some fashion.

I've been taking Orgovyx for about 6 weeks now. I've had basically the same side effects as Lupron or Firmagon other than the pain associated with Firmagon shots. The convenience of taking a pill daily instead of a monthly drive to the hospital is a big plus.

OK thanks, I've been taking it for three weeks. My side effects have been worse than on the Lupron. It doesn't give me the heart strain during hot flush, as Lupron does but the Orgovyx is giving me other side effects like much more frequent hot flushes instead of once in a while from the Lupron. It also gives me some abdominal and stomach discomfort (and gas and changes to my stool), more brain fog, anxiety/breath issues, and some mild intermittent pains in my chest, legs and abdomen area. This may be because it is working "faster" at lowering the testosterone. I am going to do some labs at Labcorp tomorrow because the urologist that wanted me to take Orgovyx, refused my request to order lab tests! (liver, kidneys, blood cell and hemoglobin, AST, ALT etc.)

GeorgeGlass, I'm on day 22 of taking Orgovyx and I'm having some similar side effects the most concerning being the anxiety/breath issue. I feel like I have an elephant on my chest. I'm also feeling the heart strain you mentioned when you were on Lupron. I've never been on Lupron. Please keep me posted as to how you may be resolving these issues. Thank you!

I have no had breathing or chest/heart issues at all with the Orgovyx. I did have palpitations in April-May but that was caused by the CV19 vaccines.

How's things going on the Orgovyx now? My doc wants me to try it but I'm leery of the cardiac side effects.

Hi Scribbler, I'm 90% sure that my heart palpitations in April were due to the 2nd cvid jab. Shoulders still injured. I've adapted to the Orgovyx. My psa last week tested less than .1 and <3 for Testosterone. I have never had a reading that low but when I went back to look at all my old T readings, they either said <10 at different hospitals or my psa was not below .1 at that point in time. I am very confident that Orgovyx is easier on the heart than Lupron and other agonists. Watch this video that GP24 sent me: grandroundsinurology.com/mi... me know if you have any questions.

Scribbler55, just curious if you ended up taking Orgovyx and if you're experiencing any side effects. I too was leary but ended up taking it after doing more research that indicated a higher cure percentage with a combination of radiation therapy and Orgovyx.

I think it might be years before they can compare effectiveness rates but I do know that my T levels are lower now. During orgasms on Lupron (very few of them), some fluid would come out. Nothing comes out on Orgovyx, nothing. My T is <3. Thats the lowest the test can detect.

I'm currently not taking anything but expect to revisit that in about two months when I meet with my onco. I have metastatic pc, but bicalutamide and radiation knocked my PSA down to 0.02 a few months ago. My doctor isn't checking PSA for 3 months then will check T and PSA before last Sept. appt. Glad to hear it is going well for you. I may end up on it yet.
