Tried just about everything including MCP. Not sure about results but I am still here after 13 years and at 83 I am still kicking. When initially diagnosed most docs would not have given me such a long time before the cancer got me.

Hi Sir;

I have been taking it for about two months, 6 tablets every night, to be on an empty stomach. Should I take it differently?

MCP was created by Issac Eliaz, MD, of ecoNugenics & Amitabha Medical Clinic and Healing Center, Santa Rosa, CA.

My introduction to MCP was in 2004, when I came across this paper:

"Modified citrus pectin (MCP) increases the prostate-specific antigen doubling time in men with prostate cancer: a phase II pilot study." [1] (2003)

Two of the authors are well-known to many men with PCa: Mark Scholz & Stephen Strum.

The first paper goes back to 1994, & in 1995 there was:

"Inhibition of spontaneous metastasis in a rat prostate cancer model by oral administration of modified citrus pectin." [2]

It's been around for over 25 years.

The most recent PCa paper:

"Modified Citrus Pectin as a Potential Sensitizer for Radiotherapy in Prostate Cancer." [3] (2018) ... Eliaz is co-author.

MCP was expensive back then & is expensive today. I wish there was an alternative product.

I took it religiously for a number of years, but switched when Thorne was selling the superior Fractionated Citrus Pectin (sadly, long gone). I have never been without one or the other, but I am perhaps less enthusiastic these days.

Hey TomNew62,

I take MCP once a day, in the morning between cups of black coffee along with all the other things that are supposed to be taken on an empty stomach which becomes quite a list. I give the supps on the list a little time between each other.

Also, before I eat, I take my blender's heavy carafe from the freezer, dump a bottle of spring water in it and an entire, thinly sliced, organic lemon and make my own "modified citrus pectin"!

I use Thorne Research's Fractionated Pectin Powder every morning. One scoop is 5 grams of powder, which I mix into my morning protein smoothie. It's formulated from the peel and pulp of citrus fruits and Thorne uses the PectaSol-C brand, which I think is superior. I think there is good research on its efficacy.

Hi everyone,

I am new here and I have recurrent prostate cancer.

My story: 2002, LDR Brachytherapy (gleason 6/3+3)

2006 biochemical recurrence and salvage radiotherapy 45Gy and Casodex 150mg for two years. 2018/19 psa rising from 0,6 to 2.0 The doctor advises me to wait and later start hormone therapy. I would like to try non-standard (of label) medicines together with the Casodex (possibly with a smaller dose, 50mg). I think about Pectin Powder, Grape seed extract, Metformin, Fenbendazole, COX-2 small dose with green tea etc.....

I would like to hear your opinions. What in my case can be a most effective?

Or maybe a "Combo" of three drugs? What about side effects, contraindications and synergy?

Not what you're looking for?
