I’ve started Mcp powder 5 gm 3x per day. I mix it in plain water till dissolved. Tastes awful. Is there any other liquid that it can be mixed with? Are there capsules that can be taken at an equivalent dose. Thanks.

Never heard of this one before, so I looked it up. healthline.com/health/8-que...

I think my tastes are quite ordinary (I used to do competitive blind wine tasting), and I have not noticed much taste at all with 3 brands--Pecta-sol, Now, and Swanson. Swanson is almost impossible to dissolve though, so if I get it again I will follow the Nalakrats method (saves time too).

I use the "lime infusion" powder from ecoNugenics and mix it 1 to 3 with the plain version. I then mix it in water (lukewarm works best, but cold is also fine) and it actually tastes good.

I don't do 3x5mg on empty stomach. I do 2x8.5 on empty stomach on the mixed powder. Empty stomach on their website is defined as half hour before meal, and 2hrs after. I find 3x a day on empty stomach disruptive.

I add mine to coffee in the a.m. Taste is not great but tolerable.

What does MCP do for you...I mean what is the purpose for taking it? Do you feel any different; does it affect your PSA?

DoggieDaddy profile image

The Studies I read involved “13” men and in another “10” men are hardly conclusive for a factual benefit! However, if the studies were nationwide involving thousands of men; thousands, then we can form an opinion either way...positive or negative. If this MCP were to be proven beneficial, I imagine huge doses would need to be taken to prevent or have some effect on Bone Mets.

Right! Your doing great! At first, when I was diagnosed, my Clinical Staging was a Gleason 5..but since there is no such thing as a Gleason 5...the most common Gleason is 3; mostly 3 + 3 the most again..so my Gleason =6. However, the gland had been penetrated by the tumor; my staging was t3a; I had a tumor cell on the Vesicle.

Well, I was taken aback by all this info. So, finally, I sent my paraphan block slice to Bostwick Labs in Va. They gave me a ; garden variety PC.

They also found I had suffiencent amounts of the Protein 27, and p53 along with Mi5 protein...the three together prohibit tumor growth!

High concentrates of p53, high concentrated of p27, and low concentrates of Mi5.

I also sent paraphan slice to Hopkins and they also concurred Gleason 3+3=6.

I took every conceivable supplement; Selenium, Vit.E ( powdered capsules ) Vit D3 (4000iu) Dailey and a few others. None of them had any effect on the way I felt. My PSA has been 0.01 since 2005.

In fact, when I was still seeing Dr. Meyers he said, “ Don’t go too heavy on any supplement “.

I am for Supplements, certainly but only those supplements that are proven beneficial to patients with PCa...and as I mentioned before when I was last seen by my two Oncologists..they both told me to go easy on the supplements; some of which are not approved by the FDA..whatever their opinion is worth. It is worth noting. Vit D3 is one I need anyway as I have Osteoporosis and my goal is to prevent bone Mets. Again, I am not against supplements, only those supplements that are proven. Be well!

I would have to look into the calcifying of the blood..I have Osteoporosis and 1200mg of Calcium + Vit. D3 for absorption..that is the protocol I am on...so far..but you bring up a valid point concerning Calcification!

Honestly, I have never come across something like Xgeva; is that one of your Oncologists suggestions? And what benefit can you expect by having it? I am curious.

You seem to have a fine plan..keep to it and be well!

So the Xgeva is basically an injection! I will do some research to see if can be done via IV drip...I do take the Reclast Infusion once a year..Bone Scan results are looking better..it’s a cumulative effort.

Curious about the “ Plant Calcium “. Is this something I can find at a Vitamin Store? I ask this because my next step would be to do the Prolia Injection every six months.

I have only recently discovered SCS..Spinal Cord Stimulation; I will check this out thourough, it seems it destroys cancer cells.

Be well

Ok. I’ve discovered that if you mix the MCP with V8 vegetable juice, that it dissolves quite well and the taste is negligible. Problem solved.

Looking for a way to reduce the diarrhea I get with it! Pecta-Sol

Nal, any recommendations for mitigating diarrhea that I get with it?

It varies, generally take it early morning so completely empty stomach, eat 1/2 hr later. What kind of a time pad do you recommend on both sides of it, if that helps?

Also I have the same issue with metformin, taken with food always but am asking doc to switch me from 850 mg tabs down to 500 XR, as I read that helps.
