Hi all. Mostly a lurker.

Have read some of the posts regarding the above supplements. Can someone please tell me the brand (LE?) and dosages that have been recommended/suggested?

Thanks

Rex

I do not take melatonin as it interacts with my BP medication. I do take MCP and the minimum dosage I have read recommended for anti-cancer therapy is 5,000 milligrams 3 times a day. Take it (the capsules) with water on an empty stomach. I am currently using the NOW brand, but there are other manufacturer's, like Life Extension which offers Pecta-Sol C, a well known and somewhat pricey supplement. You can get MCP in a powder form as well. Here are some references:

What BP medication(s) does Melatonin interact with?

At the time of the interaction, I was taking multiple BP meds as I have a difficult time with BP. Possibly Lotensin, amylodipine (Norvasc), or it may have been hydrochlorothiazide (HCT), But it's been more than 2 years and my PCP was rotating my meds to get the best combo so reconstruction of the specific combo is a challenge. I decided to stay away from Melatonin entirely because of the uncertainty.

Melatonin should not interact with any of the anti-hypertensive meds you listed. However, it is good to rule out any interactions supplements have with prescription meds. There are many.

The human studies tend to use 20 mg.

LEF says 50 mg is better for cancer.

Wow no idea how you guys can take that much. I tried 12 mg of melatonin the other night (I usually use 3-5) and was groggy all day. I was using for sleep only until I heard the potential benefits to PC. Not sure 🤔 could do 20 let alone 50 and function the next day.

I went from 5 to 8 mg after reading of the benefits. Had some dreams that I could actually remember after I woke up. Do you need a whole lot of sunshine to jump start your day? We have some of that here in AZ.

My husband uses ecoNugenics brand MCP - several different doctors recommended this - he takes 6 capsules 3X daily.

Melatonin - we are currently experimenting - used to take Nutricology brand 20 mg capsules - 3 capsules so 60 mg.

But when he gets nauseous he has a hard time keeping anything down so his is trying a suppository version, a cream version and a patch. They all work great, but the suppository works the best as it's a high dose and keeps you asleep for the night.

Here are the brands:

Zetpil Melatonin, 200 mg, 12 Hour Sustained Release Antioxidant Suppositories

Maxasorb Melatonin Cream

Respro Labs Natural Melatonin Patch Sleep Aid, 10 mg Continuous Release

Good luck!

On a slightly different tack, I have read that melatonin can interact with blood thinner dipyridamole / persantin. Is there anyone here taking both? If so what dodages?
