I was diagnosed July 3,2018 with prostate cancer. Gleason score of 8 with a 4+4 scale
Came to MD Anderson for tests and bone scan revealed cancer metastasized into several bones and lymph glands in hips. At that time PSA was over 90.
Went on hormone treatment and remain on it Lupron injections every three months and Zytiga with Decadron every morning
Good news is PSA us essentially zero and growth been arrested. Cancer is no longer advancing and in some places the cancer has shrunk.
Worst side effect been large weight gain. I’ve added almost 40 pounds in past six months. I now weight 275 - I was at 239 in September.
What has me concerned currently is that in last two weeks I have a strong, almost a smoky odor to my urine I don’t actually smoke so I’m unsure what might be going on. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
I now go back to Houston/MDA every 12 weeks to see medical team
Thanks

Infection, Gall Bladder, Liver, Kidneys, all are suspect. Plus coffee, beer, and some foods. Start eliminating. See your Family Doctor and on my list would be a Urologist, Gastroenterologist, Hepaticist, and of course your Medical Oncologist. Complete blood profile work up is in order and probably CT scans. Good luck.
