I just started Xtandi last night and was told that the PSA can fluctuate for up to several months and to ignore it.

good news, thanks, she told me it could do this but I was just double checking....Taking at night is really a good way. I have done both and I think I sink a little mid day but not bad...If I am doing something I do not notice it...Being a pilot we like to throw down a couple after a flight.....she said no problem..have fun...all of my other numbers are good and this did not phase her... Just wondering if you know anyone who has passed an FAA physical while being treated for advanced pc. I think some of the drugs might disqualify me. Not going to ask though till the time comes.

Ok before your physical date you need to have scans , blood work , and all drugs you are on listed...You need a letter from your oncologist outlining treatment plan, your side effects of the drug, and current prognosis...also it should address that you are capable of handling all of the duties of Pilot In Command of any aircraft you are typed to fly...Do not go fishing on with these sites who want to charge you...make your medicals look like a book report tabbed with a glossary ....If it is presented in a clean and orderly manner it gets scanned in faster....If you want more info you can send me a private message and I will respond...Blue Skies

I am also non met CRPC, but I suspect the "non met" part is just because I haven't had an Axium or PSMA scan that can see them yet. I started Xtandi a little over 4 months ago and I have not seen any fluctuations, although I have heard it isn't uncommon. My PSA almost immediately went to <0.1 and has stayed there for 4 months. My doc thinks I should be able to get 2 years or better out of Xtandi. He says 18 - 24 months is pretty common, and I have seen some on here that have been on it for 3 - 5 years. Hopefully your PSA will level out, and you will get a nice long run on it as well !

The study for non metastatic says it can go for 39 so screw 18 - 24 ....you go for the gold!!! Good luck,,,,Blue Skies. Sky King.....thanks for the replies everyone

PSA bounce is not uncommon. You may have to go on the general direction of your PSA. I am at the end of xtandi and my PSA is bouncing around.

I’m on Xtandi with a cocktail of lupron and Xgeva. Have Mets at stage 4. Diagnosed August 16. Mine did not jump that high but did rise a little after chemo. Fight that monster 🙏🙏🙏
