What kinds of side effects are you having from the Zoladex ? Is it bad fatigue ? I have found that I give my husband some oriveda cordyceps and lions mane on tough days and it perks him up. The ones by four sigmatic seems to help too.. but I think Oriveda is the the best brand.. If you go with Four sigmatic get the Elixir... you get 1500mg with those.. and you can buy them on Amazon.. mix them into your coffee or drink them straight with some cinnamon. I don't know if it is true for Zoladex but I think for Lupron they often take the guys off of it after 2 years. I am sure the experts here will help you out. My husband is on Lupron and Zytiga.. for him it is the Zytiga that gets him.. but he has toughed it out so far and will discuss with his doctors in the next couple of months if he can wean off any of these things.

Hugs and prayers for you. I hope you feel better soon.

What side effects are troubling you.??? There is Lupron to switch to, but none of these drugs are a party cruise... your PSA is .005 and that is great.... We put these meds in us to stay alive but they come with a price...feeling bad--mental fogginess, breast development, bone pain, ED... Tell us the side effects bothering you most, and we'll try to help...

All the best,

You have other options:

- intermittent or continuous hormone treatment

- Casodex (bicalutamide) instead of Zoladex. You can try for the dose that adequately controls your PSA (150 mg/day, 50 mg/day, 50 mg 1-4X/ week).

If you switch to Casodex alone, take with tamoxifen (10 mg/day) to prevent breast effects.

Also there are evidence based strategies to manage most of the bothersome side effects of ADT. See: LIFEonADT.com

My vacation did not work out. I should have checked my PSA more frequently. I wound up with a 'spot" on my spine and one on my hip. May radiation, apparently, had little to no effect.
