yesterday did a T3 MRI (insurance would not cover) came back with one lesion, scored a 3. "A 10mm focus laterally at the junction of right Tza and TZp at mid glad with abutment and indistinctness at the adjacent surgical capsule." URO still thinks can be prostititus.. said 70% not cancer . Said in a standard biopsy would of never caught it in its location. So said if it is cancer super treatable. Did not appear to have spread anywhere if it is. Still a little upset...

Why are you upset? All indications are for prostatitis.

Thanks, Well my odds went from a 6% on 4K to 30% . Not excited about having 16 needle biopsy . But definitely happy if it is cancer they have caught it early .

30% is low. Odds are you have prostatitis. PIRADS=3 is usually not associated with prostate cancer. However, most men as they age will harbor small amounts of low grade PC that will never do anything. Catching prostate cancer early is a two-edged sword.

Thank you for the prospective!

Thanks my T was 600 to 700 but free t was low . I am on low amount of T therapy to raise the low free t . C reactive mirrors the raise in PSA. URO said normal on the inflammation. Got to wait about 2 weeks for biopsy.

Still in hopes that the 4K PSA was right with the % likelihood of cancer was 6% . But something is going on

Sorry for the monster. I had a 4K test in May of 16. Came back as a 4% chance of aggressive cancer , In August of 16 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer with Mets in spine, ribs And lymph nodes. Don’t trust the 4 K test it failed me completely. If the doctor had given me a biopsy they would have seen how aggressive the cancer was 😡😡😡

And now the screen name larry_dammit makes all too much sense. So sorry, Larry.... Keep up the fight, brother.

Sorry!! I did my 4K in August 18 and just did the T3 MRI 2 days ago and I am doing biopsy in about a week

I do recommend a full blood panel. Which found mine. Alkaline level was 900. Supposed to be 90. Then confirmed with ct with contrast and mri , and of coarse a biopsy after the readings. Can’t be to lax with this monster 😡😡

Thanks for the info. Alkaline phosphate? Mine is a 77. Looks like in range

joeguy in reply tolarry_dammit

Not always....... when I had biopsy it came back 3 + 4 ...... not particularly aggressive. When the pathology was done after surgery, it was discovered a large part of the cancer was grade 5, and very aggressive. The biopsy doesn't always give an accurate indication of what's going on

larry_dammit in reply tojoeguy

Sorry my biopsy was to tell what type of cancer I had and how aggressive. Good luck with the monster 🙏🙏

Get the biopsy, Big A! It is a bit humbling, yah, but quick and (for me) it was much more discomfort than pain, if you get my drift.

I truly hope things continue to go in your favor, Big A. Please let us know....it seems to really cheer this group (I know it does for me) when we hear that someone broke free. Good luck. - Joe M.

Hello,

I had the 3T mpMRI test yesterday at Fox Chase Cancer Center on a relatively new machine operating since last June and dedicated solely to prostate scans - about 35 per week according to the techs. Can anyone tell me what to expect in the way of a report from my doctor next Wednesday?

Bigadvertising profile image
Bigadvertising in reply toFox2018

I got my report and met with the doctor 24 hours after the MRI

Bigadvertising profile image
Bigadvertising in reply toFox2018

I might of miss understood your question. My report that I got yesterday was a one page document with an explanation of what they saw and where. It said my lymph nodes were good, bones were good and I had a 10MM legion rated as 3 on a scale 1-5 . 1 or 2 they don’t do a biopsy, 3 is questionable and we are going to do one. My doctor said 30% chance of cancer .

Ok - good information for me - will you a TRUS or Transperineal biopsy? I had a TRUS the first time. I have heard good things from a friend about Transperineal.

So Mr. Big (that was my ID before ADT) my advice is have the Doctor put you out for your biopsy. They don't like to do so, but insist. Trust me you'll thank me. (Hey I might even thank myself) Thank me.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Actually, my URO said he was going to put me under and does almost all of his patients that way, thanks

Sorry but must repeat myself. Tell the doctor you won't pay him unless he puts you out for the biopsy. A word to the wise.

Have you tried nettle root for reducing SHBG? Although it appears it doesn’t maintain efficacy.

I personally have good T levels but high SHBG so was looking to try nettle root myself.

Hi Nalakrats, but they say less Testesorone to prevent PC growth. My Testesteton was 305 at the time of diagnosis. Now the MO will give me HT injections to LOWER my testesteton level fast as I most likely will recieve salvage radiation. I was taking Gensing for fatigue before diagnosis, then stopped it because of cancer. So is Testesorone good or bad for us with BC recurrence?

Interesting, what dosage of Avena Sativa do you take?

Excellent. Did you test SHBG before and after?

You are a veteran at APC. My hat is off to you. Amazing history .. thanks

How did you know what your Free T was if you never calculated it by combining Total T against SHBG?

taylor123 profile image
taylor123

Really? I’ve had many hormone panels done and always thought Free T was calculated by using total testosterone, albumin and SHBG.

Would love to have a link to this test whenever you have time?

Appreciate the time Nalakrats 👌
