Castrate resistant

Hello All,

Just a quick question... once diagnosed as castrate resistance, besides for chemo (right now taxotere) what are other treatment options? (Chemo has shrunk cancer in liver and lungs and some lymphnodes). I am praying that you guys and gals can provide me with promising treatments. My guy has had 4 rounds of taxotere and is doing well... he has two more to go and then scans... my understanding is he will continue to have to be monitored by scans and when the cancer flares ups... more treatments?????? What can we expect next... my guy is 52... me... 51... We are young - having to deal with this monster - stage 4b prostate cancer is devasting!!! I appreciate your comments/support. Sending this message with love to all of you,

Connie❤❤❤💕💕🙏🙏🙏 Dear Lord, please send your healing and loving Angels to care and comfort all of us battling this horrible thing called "prostate cancer"! Thank you in the name of Jesus!

So far, the approved drugs are Xofigo, Zytiga, Xtandi, Jevtana, and Provenge. There are many more in clinical trials.

Went 9 cycles and added Xtandi after #5. Beat me down badly. Pushed PSA to 0.140 area where it has been for 9 Mo., Good luck. Still on reduced dose xtandi.

Others noted the approved drugs which are currently being used to treat this beast and everyone responds differently with some drugs giving great results to some and not to others need to find which ons(s) work best for your husband.

Also look for clinical trials and suggest them to your OC as they may not be aware of them, this forum is a good source to hear about new trials.

I personally am in a trial with LU 177 PSMA that is giving me great results dropping my PSA from 110 to 0.40 in 24 weeks. Other trials are on going and new treatments being developed yearly.

You stated you guys are young and my recommendation is continue being active, enjoy life and don’t let this disease define what you guys can do. You and your husband have many years to enjoy life!!
