Hi..I am bit worried and confused as my father has been diagnosed with prostate cancer stage 4, post biopsy and PET scan doc says it has spread to lungs and bones. We did his PSA test and its alarming, the report says Serum Total PSA 76048.5 ng/mL
I did not see anyone having such high PSA on the web. Anyone of you have encountered such a situation or guide me.
We already started his hormone therapy last week with Firmagon. He is 71 year old and currently active.

Hey thank zou for the response... Even I am a bit surprised and more over my father is still very active, we plan to do a check one more time before meeting the doctor again. I live in Germany but my father is in India and undergoing treatment at Tata Medical Centre at Mumbai India, Yes we do have PET scan too which shows that it has spread to lungs and bones.
Hey this is really helpful. I will be going back on Friday and I live in Frankfurt close to Heidelberg...Will check once I am back..If you have any further info please keep me updated I will keep posting as we proceed with the treatment.
Thanks Allen, currently doctor have started with Degarelix 120mg .. we will do a PSA test again to see the impact. Do you have any other details of this patient?
I had a PSA of 5,006 at initial diagnosis about 5 years ago, with many mets to bones and lymph nodes, but not to lungs or other soft tissues. Primary Androgen Deprivation Therapy happened to work very well on my cancer biology, and my PSA dropped as low as 1.0 within several months. You will know soon if the initial drugs give a good response on imaging, symptoms, and/or PSA and other test results.
Provenge. But no surgery, no radiation, no chemo? Very impressive! I'm not into diet, life style, vitamins, supplements and etc. all that much but if you got some kind of a secret I'm sure all of us would appreciate it if you would share. You're not just truckin' sounds like you're on a bulldozer. Wow.
Once told by a UCSF MO that was in charge of MRSI endorectal scans with both gadolinium and Pyruvate that she had a patient with a PSA of over 1 million. This was some 9 or 10 years ago. I was never convinced that she was pulling my leg. A wonderful MO by the way.
Wow that is high, Get together with a oncologist as soon as possible, I was diagnosed at 66. Did 6 rounds of chemo and been on lupron and Xgeva since. That’s 29 months. Sooner you do something the better. Fight the good Fight
