Hello PCa warriors and supporters,
I'm writing here for my dad (19-year PCa survivor, since January 2015 he's been metastatic with 3-4 lesions to the bones and lymph node involvement around the left kidney). He's been doing great since that January, we started seeing Dr. Charles Myers and long story short: he's been <0.006 for two years now, while continuing on Lupron+Avodart+Zytiga+Metformin+Statins+Xgeva. SIde effects are no joke, but overall he's glad to be where he is, and hopes this protocol will keep working for a bit more.
But, Myers retired in 2017, he recommended Dr. Ferrari at Rutgers, who was also wonderful, but she also has stopped seeing patients at this moment.
So, we're facing the dilemma of moving to a new oncologist in 2019. We've narrowed the list to the "usual suspects" in NYC: Dr. Morgan at Sloan, Dr. Tagawa at NYU, Dr. Oh at Sinai, and Drake at Columbia.
We would love to switch to an oncologist who is easy to talk to, and who thinks both inside and outside the box (my dad felt great and hopeful about the future when he interacted with Myers and Ferrari, they were incredible in answering his questions and making him feel like a human being).
Any suggestions, from personal experiences or otherwise, would be profoundly appreciated (please feel free to DM me as well, if you prefer).
Thanks,
Arthut
