Met w Dr Deaglin McHugh, Oncologist, and Dr Jonathon Coleman, Surgeon. Both said my numbers (PSA down to .56 and full blood panel) look good. Nano Knife not the answer (yet) for Advanced Stage PCa, but May work well for some sensitive hard to get at areas. Phase 1 Trial underway w Nano Knife for Intermediate PCa. Could not discuss study other than favorable.Said think of Robotic Surgery as back hoe, Radiation as a Fire Extinguisher, and Nano Knife as a squirt gun. Both said should teleconference w Dr McBride in Radiology. They do Tri Modal approach as a std of care at MSK using Robotic Surgery, Radiation, and 12-18 mos of ADT. Said best to catch Advanced PCa when cells are asleep and at their weakest. Now is a good time for me at 12 mos since Dx and 12 mos into ADT.

I hv been previously told I am inoperable and incurable. Maybe some progress here? Feeling optimistic. Fun 4 days in NYC. With my wife Barbara Saw the Lion King on Broadway and had Sunday brunch in Grand Central Park at Tavern on the Green w a stop at St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Best,

Mike

Scout, Yes, little guns can kill too. More importantly, there are places where the Back Hoe, or The Fire Extinguisher cannot go, but the Nano Knife (IRE) can get back in there with 17 mille second electronic pulses creating nano holes in the tumor where body fluid and white blood cells will enter and kill the tumor. Especially good for difficult retro peritoneal lymph nodes which many of us have. Also along bladder and rectum where IRE does not damage surrounding tissue. The Germans have been using Nano Knife for 10 years at Vittus Institute. I did learn that the nerve bundles on each side of prostate DO NOT have mylar sheathing so even w current turned down, they have been experiencing some nerve damage. About 1 in 3 are having erectile issues. He points out that everything is reversible w outside means. Best,

Mike

Also made it down to the spiritual World Trade Center Memorial. Saw the bronze statue of the 12 Horsemen (12 Strong), and took the Subway down and back. So much safer than in the early mid 80’s when you were not allowed to ride after 6pm. All that Graffiti Art gone now for better or worse.

Thanks for showing us Broadway!

Dr. Jonathan Coleman was my surgeon (October 2020) and Dr. Matthew McBride is my RO (persistent PSA). Both doctors have been incredible. You are in great hands.
