Can anyone explain this to me?

As I have written before my approach to my cancer is maybe a little unconventional.

Here is what I am doing:

1. Vitamin C intravenously twice a week 75 measurement.

2. Far infra red saunas twice a week.

3. One half hour of oxygen while working out twice a week.

4. Chanting - killing my cancer, killing my cancer that’s my mantra. That’s my mantra. I say this every time I get out of bed to pee.

Lastly, and most importantly my prayers to God. I do this multiple times throughout the day and night.

Here is my PSA scores for the last several months of this year.

May - 0.67

June - 0.78

July - 0.64

August- 1.44

September- missed

October - 4.08

Now here is the stunner -

November0.52!!!

What the heck happened?

I am on 3 month Lupron I am due to have my next shot on December 17th.

The only change and this could be the kicker is that I started taking ESSIAC 42 days before my stunning 0.52 reading in November. I take 3 pills 3 times a day. Has anyone else had any experience with ESSIAC?

I am also going to be trying the plant based BRIM or Gators Blood in the next week or so. Any feedback on that would be most grateful.

We are now in a wonderful time of the year with so much to be thankful for. To all PC team members stay strong and believe the power of your mind and the undeniable power of prayer.

I thank you all for your time.

Well, you got lupron in September. Do you know your testosterone values?

So what do you put the most faith in ? The Lupron or all the other stuff ?

I put my faith in God first and foremost. Lupron would probably come in last. I also am a vegan and try to only eat organic food.

Despite of your thinking and beliefs about the treatment of prostate cancer, you decided for some reason to be treated with Lupron (conventional therapy).

If you really want to understand the pathophysiology of what is going on with your PSA you need to put together testosterone values and PSA values.

My PSA when down from 10 to 0.8 in 2 months. The the only thing I did was to get a 3 months shot of Lupron. By the second month my testosterone was close to 0. I believe my PSA decreased was caused by the Lupron.

You have a different belief about Lupron but IMO it will be essential to know what happened with your testosterone between September and November, to explain what happened to your PSA. It is very easy for any supplement to apparently get the PSA down if at the same time the testosterone is going down reaching castrate levels.

my oncologist in Spokane WA decided for me to take the lupron/eliguard even when it reached 0 for months or years. i read about what the side effects with ones bones when u keep taking the lupron. when my number was 3 i quit. the other problem was i was taking zytiga until no foundations were available to give out. so 6 months without both my psa went to 60 and my test was 38 one shot later my psa dropped to 28 and test droped to 37. i will start back with zytiga in DEC and my test starts DEC . we all or all should know some of these treatments aren't available in this country or the cost to travel for it isn't financially available so we are stuck to our area for treatment. truley i don't have alot of favor in oncologist to me they just maintain nothing more and heaven u should suggest something else. my oncologist is a specialist in breast cancer i guess they figure in my area if they are good in boobs then they can work on ones prostrate.

I believe that you’ve got your head on your shoulders.. You’re doing some great things for yourself.. We all don’t have to match to the same drummer. I too did two I.V ‘s of C and others twice weekly my first year with pc . I believe it helped. I eat similar.. also Keep healing self brother. Love life and live happy.

I think lupron likes you better than you like it. It is good that you are getting conventional treatment like this. Many of us are open to using supplements like BIRM in addition to ADT (lupron). I haven't heard of Essiac before now.

I would say your attitude has a lot to do with it. Keep on fighting and fighting joyously. We are all different, but attitude is the one most important thing.

where do u live in the deep south. gator blood i think its funny never heard of anyone doing this for sure. most guys i know of have taken lupron/eliguard shots the normal pills, including zytiga and of course PROVENGE. me personality would never attack my psa if its not above the normal level which is 4.0 i would have a drink and have it tested every 6 month and after it passes 4.0 now this is before radiation, and biopsy of course.

Morning Charles

At a psa of 4.1 my tumor, I didn’t know I had ,was clear out of my prostate and against my rectum. My family Dr wasn’t worried either till it was over 4. For me 4 was not normal or ok. The test result said 4 was top of normal as you say. Not the case obviously.

charlesmeyers1964 profile image
charlesmeyers1964 in reply to

usually when the cancer is outside ones prostrate like in a lymph nodes that means it has spread. me after the biopsy and found 7 out of 12 were still in the prostrate no one was worried. without treatment then

i went directly to a lupron shot and it was good for a few more months. once my psa started to grow then i had the two options in my area surgery or radiation which is noninvasive which i took. i kept records for every treatment time frame, and when i changed treatments. for years i went to 3,4,5 and then back down. been with out my zytiga and my psa has gone as high as 60 now back to the 30 range and will start zytiga again until i run out of it again. its been 10 years so i feel pretty good remember once u have been dx of this particular u have it until u die. there is no cure.

i found that out on line there was a statement that a bio-tech company did got a hold of that question. yes it did in Arabic countries none here for sure. do more investigation and if u do can confirmed that company to all of us and will go for it.

in reply tocharlesmeyers1964

Didn’t quite understand what you said there. Zytiga is generic now. The company is in India. It is available here in the USA.

I had a gleason 8 with a PSA of 3.8. Time to drop the under 4 is good BS

charlesmeyers1964 profile image
charlesmeyers1964 in reply toadlerman

if u are 3.8 your normal now that doesn't mean u have to aggressively attack . we sometimes get number more important then the rest of treatments. take it easy relax and just be aware of your situation of your health and move carefully

joekaty profile image
joekaty in reply tocharlesmeyers1964

I think it depends on how aggressive your specific cancer is. Post chemo, Dr. Stadler at University of Chicago had my husband (post 10 rounds taxotere) be aggressive and start Ztandi when his PSA hit 1.69- two consecutive small “bumps”. He said Joe’s cancer is aggressive and therefore we will treat aggressively. Our MO and Dr. Corn at MDA were on board with that once they heard his reasoning.

My 3.8 was over 16 years ago. I have been less than 0.01 since.

in reply toadlerman

Me too

My PSA was 3.7 when DRE done by an experienced urologist found a tumor in my prostate. Gleason 8. A DRE by my Primary Care Physician missed the tumor.

Actually doing a DRE requires experience; some docs have the magic touch, others don’t...my Primary told me she felt a hardness in the Prostate...but the Nurse at my Urologists Office failed to do so right before my Biopsy...of course that Nurse is no longer working there!

Your have to change your mantra, you should be singing that famous Russian song to your Pca.

It goes like this: Pizzonya, Pizzonya, Pizzonya, in Russian that means "I love you". If I had my way I'd Pizz-on-ya all day Pizzonya, Pizzonya, Pizzonya.

Sing this every time you get out of bed to pee.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Make certain your Laboratory has up to date calculation when Blood Draw is done...this is not common but from time to time these machines need to be recalculated..also make sure your Lab is using the same PSA Assay; there is also an UltraSensitive Assay which produces an extended decimal reading.
