Hi all, my father (82) is on hormone therapy for Stage 4 (Gleasons 10 8's and 2 9's).
They started with Bicalutamide on 24 September then Lupron Injection on 3 October.
Confirmed is mestastasis to left groin lymphnode. No-one wants to do anything about the lymphnode. PSA down from 13.97 to .73. Doc told dad still watch 'n wait.
Do we need to do anything else? Couldn't the cancer in lymph be finding another node and or another organ? Considering a 2nd Opinion.....should we?
Any help - is appreciated. Thanks, all.

Welcome! Sorry for Dad’s PC.. My father also had it twenty years ago. Not #4 however ,and he shuffled off a couple years later from an unrelated asthma attack. Love and comfort your father...I don’t know about your questions but others more knowledgeable will answer these.. Thanks for looking out for him.. Info will empower you.. Perhaps yu should consider to consult with a medical oncologist and with a radiation oncologist specialized in prostate cancer and see what they have to say about treatments, quality of life vs longevity etc. etc. If you live in the San Diego area, there is a NIH designated Comprehensive Cancer Center at UCSD (Moores Cancer Center).
You are right that the cancer is most likely systemic. By the time it found its way to an inguinal lymph node, there are most likely small amounts of cancer everywhere. Sometimes, when it is found only in pelvic lymph nodes it can still be stopped if you remove or treat ALL of them, but the pelvic LNs drain from the prostate, whereas the inguinal LN doesn't.
