Made the decision to stop with the pain medication OxyContin withdrawals are getting fierce restless legs at night runny nose and sleeping well not so much. trying to reduce pain isn't easy but going with 1000mg of Tylenol to try and keep it to a dull roar.Anybody have this experience ? feels like my QOL is slipping away from me while on the narcotics.Gods speed to everybody and positive vibes on good health.

The soap thing does sound a little bit weird to me. I live in a state where it is legal and have a friend who owns a dispensary might be time to try it anything is better then losing my QOL due to narcotics .Thanks brother

My hubby was taking Zapain , but now has separate codine and paracetamol so he can control how much he needs . Working better for him.

I have yet to reach the stage where I need narcotics to stop pains from Pca. But I was having a lot of restless legs and I often got leg cramps. A friend suggested I lacked enough magnesium and 2 weeks ago I began taking 2 tablets in morning and "Crampade" powder dissolved in water after dinner, and all my leg bothers have gone.

I cycled 34km across town this a.m. and averaged 24.1kph, not a bad speed for a 71yo who has no testosterone and has bad Pca, and had last chemo 2 weeks ago. I am almost up to same speed I was before I began chemo 14 weeks ago.

It pays to know about your electrolite levels. I also eat lots of GREEN raw vegies and take a couple of vitamin C tablets in am and pm.

I have heard that ppl who have have been on narcotics for pain and who stop taking them often cope OK because they don't have the addictive personel traits of those who try all sorts of things and have a terrible life as an addict.

I use the arthritis Tylenol. Was given OxyContin after a surgery, MO gave me a refill, don't use. Read on site CBD may feed cancer, check out. I use Gabapentin successfully for legs.

Dear RedBank...

I had severe pain from Restless Leg. Pains shooting down my legs wouldn't stop with position changes. Kept me from sleeping. Woke me when I was asleep. Absolutely awful.

Then a GP made a recommendation that I laughed at. Simple and relatively cheap. "Drink 10 - 12 ounces of Tonic Water or Diet Tonic Water (aka Quinine) an hour before your normal bedtime," he said.

I tried it. Didn't work first night, but it worked starting the second night. I continued for a month. Still worked, so I figured I'd stop and see what happened. First night, okay. Second night, pains returned.

Went back on the tonic regime and bingo, no more Restless Leg Syndrome. It has worked for me for 8 years! Once in a while, I stop taking it and sure enough the pains return starting on the second night. So, now I'm a dedicated addict.

Hint: buy the 64 oz diet Tonic Water (less calories). Look for BOGO sales and buy 64 bottles (pay for 32). I do that once a year. Usually have to go to 2 or 3 stores to get that quantity. But that lasts a year!

Everyone will laugh about this idea, but you'll sleep well, RedBank. GOOD LUCK.
