I think most studies have been done about Niclosamide.
And what did the most positive studies show? Did it do any good? Was it proven in a clinical trial? Sorry but I’m not informed about this tapeworm medicine treatment. If someone could summarize succinctly I’d would appreciate it. Thank-you
I believe the mechanism of action of Niclosamide might be somewhat similar to Fenbendazole or Mebendazole.
They work as Mictotubule disruptors , which means that the cytoskeleton of microtubule of growing cancer cells are broken and destroyed.
It causes mitochondria of cancer cells to malfunction resulting in deprivation of energy (ATP) for cancer cells...AND that leads to apoptosis (programmed cell death) of cancer cell lines. They works as AKR 1 C inhibitors.
There is scientific reasoning behind anti cancer effects of these de-wormer meds..its
not just gossip of lay people in my opinion.
Niclosamide is not absorbed in enough amount to affect the cancer.

The best results have been found with modified niclosamide (PDMX1001/niclosamide) . The only way to get PDMX1001/niclosamide is with a clinical trial:

I am planning a trip to Canada to buy the cholera vaccine. The Swedish study was compelling and my MO at MD Anderson is teeing up that paper for a peer review analysis there.
Nal, (welcome back by the way, you were missed)
Yeah I’d love to obtain the vaccine states side. How does one do that? I will wait for your post!
The dose of niclosamide I found in the trial at UC Davis under Dr Pan starts at 400mg and works up to 1700mg daily. I am mad at Dr Pan who was my MO for not telling me about it before starting Zytiga. He signed my Zytiga prescription and did not say a word about the niclosamide trial.
Pan quit in October and abandoned my cancer follow up appointment to a Nurse Practitioner. I learned he quit when I walked in to my appointment. He also abandoned my monthly XGEVA prescription which ran out on that appointment. Nurse is trying to get another 6 months until I can find a new MO, but she had trouble and could not renew. With a lot of looking, I was able to find a new MO at a different cancer medical facility, not UC Davis. With Dr Pan is gone, he is probably not running that trial anymore. (My primary care at UC Davis also quit, but gave me 1 month notice so I could find somebody else.)
I read oil can help absorption, (olive oil, DHA oils). There is a post that the clinical trial drug is modified for better absorption. I have an old MO at City of Hope who may write the prescription. After that, I can order it online. If I cant get it online, there is always a trip to San Diego and TJ across border and the drug may be cheaper there.
Thanks for your post. I will read up on that Canadian vaccine.
If you are referring to Vaxchora, in February I emailed the researchers at Lund Univ about the difference and this is the reply I received:

Hi Daniel,
Based on google search of Vaxchora, I am not confident whether Vaxchora can be effective or not. As Dukoral is composed of both Vibrio cholerae O1 whole cells and recombinant CTB, and we assume that CTB might have antitumor effect by modulating the immune system.
About Vaxchora (Cholera Vaccine, Live, Oral) Vaxchora is an oral vaccine indicated for active immunization against disease caused by Vibrio cholerae serogroup O1. Vaxchora is approved for use in adults 18 through 64 years of age traveling to cholera-affected areas. The effectiveness of Vaxchora has not been established in persons living in cholera-affected areas or in persons who have pre-existing immunity due to previous exposure to V. cholerae or receipt of a cholera vaccine. Vaxchora has not been shown to protect against disease caused by V. cholerae serogroup O139 or other non-O1 serogroups.
I can get vaccinated with Vaxchora at a specialty travel clinic 10 minutes from my home. Are you saying it wont help cancer like the Canadian one?
I'm not saying it, the research doc in Sweden sent me that email reply with doubts about the effectiveness of Vaxchora. Nobody really knows since there are no studies of Vaxchora like there is on Dukoral. I was going to head to Canada for the Dukoral but I have been taking FenBen for six months now and since it is also an Anthlemintic (anti-parasitic) like Dukoral I won't double up on them. My PSA has been undetectable sine March so no hurry to change things as yet.

I had this question in my mind from sometime whether re-proposed meds be used early on. Seems like you are saying yes.
I am only 6 month from day of diagnosis...still hormone sensitive ….But I am attacking the disease with cimetidine, doxycycline, red yeast rice, berberine, fenben, neem, turmeric, cruciferous veg, indomethacin, , ginger, garlic, red tomatoes , grape seed extract, dan shen etc.
Doing well .no symptoms .liver numbers excellent,, PSA 0.7 and going further down.
Is there any harm in using all these extras along with Lupron and Zytiga.?
Watch out for Zytiga. Herbals will interact. Watch your liver.
I am watching liver ..every 2 weeks .AST and ALT ,LDH all are in normal range.
I am taking 250 mg of Zytiga with a cup of full fat yogurt.
Watch liver tests WEEKLY first 8 weeks, then less often after that. in 2008, I took herbals with Ketoconozale which has similar liver warnings as Zytiga and got jaundice. It was a the most horrible experience in my life. Had a million bumps on my skin like mosquito bites everywhere and had to use Sarna lotion 24 hrs for itching. Took 2 months for liver to recover and itching to stop.
After recovery, I found Dr Charles E Myers who put me on URSODIOL to protect liver, and lowered my dose of Keto. Did not take any herbals this time. Keto did not give me trouble with that change. URSODIOL is a great protection drug if you are taking a lot of meds and herbals.
If I see any abnormality in liver or kidney function test..i will reduce dose quickly. But so far tests are normal.
My oncologist said we can try it after everything else fails. Waiting to hear more about anybody’s success. Hate this monster
I am looking forward to your views on this Nalakrats. A lingering question I have is whether the repurposed micro-tubule acting drugs might accelerate cross-resistance to taxanes (such as docetaxel) that work via similar mechanisms? Could they be burning a bridge for those who are not yet refractory to taxanes?
I ordered fenbendazole 100mg from Mexico since Niclocide 500mg brand name USA was too expensive in the USA, and the other names for Niclocide very cheap but only in India. Luckily, my old City of Hope Provenge dr from 2008 in SCAL agreed to write the prescriptions and also a few other off label things I needed. Had to go to SCAL for an appointment to reestablish care before he would write prescriptions.
I read Joe Tippens blog about tapeworm med helped him. Worth a try.
Plan to do a month on and a month off alternating the tapeworm med with an antibiotic Doxycycline 25mg. . Will take the tapeworm med with some oils and DHA oil for better absorption. Ursodiol pill 250mg every other day to help protect my liver. Will change to a coated baby aspirin instead of uncoated, will cut back on celebrex and use only if pain flares up. Continuing my daily Crestor statin 20 mg, no changes. Continuing 0.5 Decadron to go with the Zytiga, no changes.
