Well, it really was great to be away from doctors, and needles and nurses..(except one we met on the tour...LOL) Had a few days in London before our tour started to visit with several friends and have dinners with them each night...fish and chips...etc. Lots of seeing the sights (again) of London and just enjoying the cool weather and the gray skies (coming from South Florida...they are what I dream of...especially in August). I had just finished my 3 Provenge treatments two weeks before...and was afraid I would have no energy...but did fairly well! It was a Motor Coach(bus) tour...and that meant getting to relax between sights and take naps and have a bathroom close by (just in case)...I actually never used the one on the bus as they make such frequent stops to snack, sightsee and "pee". Beautiful countries...beautiful time of year...Stonehenge was a "bucket list" thing...as was "throwing a kiss at" the Blarney Stone....and seeing the Cliffs of Moher and hanging out in Edinburg....Getting away from "reality" IS a big pick me up! Ate LOTS of food...drank a few gin and tonics...and a few Guinness...All in All...Life is Beautiful! ~~and I have to quote a sampler I have...."Travel East, Travel West. After all, Home's Best". It's great to be home to my puppy and my bed. I had gotten my latest PSA results right as I was leaving...but waiting until I got back to read them....since I couldn't do anything about the results except worry if they weren't good. PSA went down (again) from 1.08 to 0.963. ~~I am assuming it's from my three months of being on Xtandi...as most of the things I read say that Provenge can spike you PSA up. Mine's been steadily going down since starting Xtandi. Best wishes to ALL.
~~John

Good for you! I too took 11 days between chemo #5 and #6 to do Scotland and Ireland, including N. Ireland. Returned Aug 31...who knows, we may have crossed paths! Drank and ate our way across three countries with 13 other travelers. Forgot about all this MPCa stuff.
John, Glad you had such a good time, I wish you many more summers trips to Europe over the years.Just 10 weeks ago I walked around those same stones on our way to Cornwall. I wish I could post a picture in comments.
Nice to hear of your positive travel tales. I did most of those places back in 1990 as a 23 year old. Very fond memories. I like the idea of the travel insurance, but here in Australia they have exclusions for pre-existing conditions, so not much good if you have it anyway.
I am leaving in a few hours. Seattle to Prague, Germany, France. MO took me off Zytiga last week due to high liver enzymes. Blood test yesterday showed them down but elevated. Going to be a lot of fun with wife and then back to more blood tests on 24th.
