Xofigo and Zytiga

I was wondering if folks on this site were aware that the European Medicine Agency (EMA) has indicated that Xofigo (Radium 223) should not be used with the medicine Zytiga (abiraterone acetate) and the corticosteroid prednisone. A friend of mine who has Stage 4 metastatic Prostate Cancer and who is on Zytiga had two doctors recommend Xofigo because of large tumours on his femur and elsewhere. It was not until he spoke to a radiation oncologist who specializes in nuclear medicine that he realized this combination is potentially dangerous. The radiation oncologist cited a clinical trial that showed this combination led to a higher incidence of fractures and death as compared to people taking Zytiga and placebo. He also said one of the VPs at Bayer (makers of Xofigo) has issued a medical warning against combining these two drugs. Anyone aware of this?
