Docetaxel and leg/groin pain?

First post on this site but read everyday to absorb as much information on fighting this awful disease. My husband has had second round of Docetaxel 5 days ago. He has multiple bone mets in lower back, right hip and right femer. Yesterday he started with severe groin and hip/leg pain on the left side. Today he can barely walk or weight bear on the left side. Has anyone experienced a side effect such as this?

I had periodic sharp stabbing pains in my joints (elbows, wrists, knees, etc) for about 10 days after each docetaxel infusion. All went away once the chemotherapy ended.

I’m on docetaxel, four sessions completed and fifth scheduled for July 27. Yes have difficultywalking and sometimes considerable painin femur below knee. Am 78 with advanced met prostate bone cancer, castration resistant, etc. Feel very weak and fatigued. Have Denosumab togetherwith docetaxel, also prednisone 5mg twice a day. Had samechemo 6 years ago, worked very wellwith hardly any side effects. Today it’s different, not working as PSA doesn’t budge and hellish side effects.

Also have cramps in my hands. Onc doc said that was due to docetaxel. Anyone have that?

I have been on docetaxel for a year and a half. I get leg cramps at night. I found that by drinking Pediolite before bedtime I don't have the pains. Magnesium and potassium pills may also be helpful.

The MO should also check for blood clots which are common in cancer patients and often cause swelling in the feet. I had this and am now on blood thinners.

Thanks all for sharing your similar pains. After seeing other doctors in emerg it is determined that he is suffering from peripheral neuropathy- a rare side effect of Docetaxel

For neuropathy I keep my hands and feet in ice during the Docetaxel infusion. My nails have also improved.
