noahware's recent post about nerve issues in left jaw prompted me to write tonight. My husband was diagnosed with PCa recurrence in November after PSMA and biopsy of lesion at L3. He's been experiencing some numbness and tingling in his right leg for about 6 months. Now his left leg is feeling the same. The scan did note arthritis in his lower spine though he's not had associated pain.
He had 5 sessions of SBRT in early December. He told his MO at the same time about the nerve issues in the right leg. She didn't seem too concerned. Now Paul is concerned that the tingling and numbness is in both legs. His next appointment later this month is with an NP because his MO will be away. Considering his recent PCa status with mets at L3 and deep in pelvis, he's worried that it's because of cancer.
I know he needs to check in with his MO. In the meantime, have any of you had a similar problem and was it mets and/or arthritis? What kind of tests or scans might he expect? He will do better with some idea and not be stewing about it. Thank you! Mary

It's the whole leg. He has Type 2 diabetes but it's been very well controlled. I just looked at his labs for the past year. He also has had what the cardiologist says were "episodes" of congestive heart failure. That also is controlled but not totally. He missed out on a clinical trial for PCa last month because he was hospitalized overnight and given a lot of diuretics. He was asymptomatic after a day and a half. He's got a lot of comorbidity problems, also including osteoporosis from the ADT he was on when first diagnosed 5 years ago.
It would be helpful to find out what's what, especially the leg numbness and tingling. His MO has all his visit notes from his cardiologist. His primary follows his diabetes. I'm trying to figure out how to address everything in a coordinated and efficient way. Suggestions are welcomed. Paul is feeling overwhelmed because of the cancer recurrence. He turns to me to figure things out. That's the way our marriage has worked out over 43 years. It's a good balance of each other's skill sets and interests. He's scared and worried.
I have only been on ADT for about five months now so I’m relatively new at this but, I have developed pretty significant tingling, numbness, sharp pain and electrical shock in both legs, especially the left. I am resisting meds for treatment at this time opting to limit medication due to additional side effects. I have found relief by weight bearing exercise and walking.
If the whole legs are affected and he has mets in the spine and in the pelvis discus doing a MRI from the thorax to the pelvis to see if nerves are being affected by the mets.
