Have you repeated chemo so far in your journey?

Through an approval letter from my insurance company stating I was approved to repeat docetaxel. My MO is a step ahead of me in my knowledge of his request and I'm sure he will bring it up at our appt on May 30.

DX'd 14 months ago, widespread mets all over upper torso, ribs, spine, but not in lymph nodes or soft tissue. Lupron, Docetaxel (worked very well), Surgical Castration..... after 3 months, PSA takes a significant jump. Now on Zytiga for 3 months, PSA better but unstable.

After 14 months of these drugs and no testosterone, my physical body is not what it was when it all began. I am beginning to lose muscle mass. I have no energy, I really can't do shit. I don't blame it on the cancer, I blame it on all these drugs.

So if I get hit with another round of chemo, am I ever going to get back to "TODAY's" strength.... which isn't much? Is the second round as bad as the first? Right now, I at least feel like I'm still getting better and would rather ride this feeling as long as I can and then take the chemo, knowing then... I'd be rolling the dice and i'd probably be all down hill from there. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I understand how you feel for the last 3 years I did 2 radiation series and chemo. I’ve gained 30. Lbs and lost energy. With no treatments for the last 14 months I started walking 3 miles a day and then worked up to 6 miles ( having a 1 year old golden retriever helped). I think just doing walking you’ll find your energy will increase. We’ll be thinking of you as you jump this next hurdle.
