Hello my friends, wanted to check in & say hello. I will begin Xofigo injections next week, for six months. Wanted to see if any one of you have had this radioactive medicine.
Been dealing with a lot of back & bone pain after my ten rounds of chemo. Also a quick hospital stay. Anxious for this new “phase” , also very concerned.
Wishing you all my best, as always.

I haven't had the treatment but have heard men report that it helped them. When the treatment was developed and tested it was expected to be useful only in fighting pain. However one surprise was that, for men whose cancer was primarily in the bones, it also extended life by killing off a lot of that cancer in the bones.
Well this sounds encouraging. Thank you for taking your time to reply. I truly appreciate this . Had some concerns about this drug, but so far I am hearing positive feedback.
Good luck with the Xofigo. Hope it acts quickly for some pain relief.

(On the prudent precautionary side, keep a close eye on the blood work, and how it recovers between each dose. If your "reds, whites, and platelets" should ever start coming back too low, or don't recover quickly enough, be your own best advocate, and get at least one doctor on your side to be your champion for coordinating and making things happen for any supportive help you may need. If you have low reds or hemoglobin, don't let someone put you through quality of life torture that might be quickly fixed by getting a blood transfusion. Same goes for a platelets boost. Stay ahead of the power curve)
