Very hard to loose your life partner and keep going. I did 6 years ago now, and have cancer myself. One foot in front of the other each day, is how my long passed Mum used to put it. Rings in my ears, each morning. But life is still for the living (my Dad's saying). So live it.
My deepest sympathies for the loss of your husband. May he R I P 🙏.

Devtony8,
We have done a good thing? Your husband has also done a good thing--A DRAW!!!--shows his indomitable spirit that is certainly an inspiration to many of us here! Much courage there! I will not forget how your husband viewed the scorecards.
I can feel your inner strength when reading your post. Please, when you can, care for yourself. At times family, friends and clergy can be helpful, however, there are times when we need to be alone with our memories and grief as we continue living with a significant loss.

FYI...From GFM: Tony Alston passed away this weekend. Oh, how my heart mourns. He suffered for six years with diagnosed Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. He had no overt symptoms prior to his diagnosis.
When he fell on his job, he was terminated, and of course lost his life insurance. Tony was a very proud man who Loved God. He held his head up and sought to focus on various ways to fight the cancer. He was determined to learn as much as he could, participate in cancer discussions and clinical trials. I believe that the radiation trial was what pushed his mets even more throughout his body. He would always say he's not giving up, even when nothing seemed to be working. The last ten months of his life had become unbearable. There were some really good days, but there were many bad days.
I am his wife of 22+ years and I've been deprived. I lost the love of my life, the only man who I truly loved, and who truly loved me. We became soul mates after many years. He was a selfless man; family meant everything to him. He would take off work and jeopardize his job to take care of his family. Oh how I miss and love my husband so!
When he started realizing that he had become unable to even take care of himself, it absolutely crushed his spirit. If you ever knew Tony, he's a selfless person. But when he became sick, he needed alot of help but was too proud to ask. Needless to say, we were unable to carry a life insurance policy and I'm in a pickle. I need your help to funeralize my husband.

I’m so sorry. Peace be with you and your family.
