Celebrities Who Died From PCa

They keep telling us almost everybody dies with PCa not from it

They are Celebrities alright. But by looking at this death raw, I didn't get your intended message which I think has been misconstrued. We say a person dies with PCa and not from it only when he enters long and stable cancer free remission due to treatment and dies due to some reason other than PCa. Or he has died due to a known other reason whilst having a PCa not diagnosed and treated for no symptoms experienced. The few introductory lines under each celebrity do not conform to your statement ( not the title of your post ). It is an account of their great work of varied professions reading of which takes a considerable time. Just one example :

No.2 Frank Zappa : Musician died at 53. I read the long story. It ends like this ...

Death : Zappa died after his long battle with prostate cancer on 4th December 1993 at his home. ........

Why did this man die relatively at a young age of 53? Clearly said it was because of PCa. So he had died of PCa !

The title of your post is correct but not the message you have attached to the link. How come "almost everybody"? !. Please don't count me, I and my physician are not quite sure about my prognosis to use the prefix 'with' or 'from' properly.

And "they" are correct. Most men die with PCa, not as a direct result of having PCa. Besides, 1) with the exception of Zappa, most had already lived well past their life expectancy, and 2) the linked website is full of click-bait, which makes me question its credibility.

Yes of course, on the extreme premise every man is living with prostate cancer because out of millions of cells in the tissues of the prostate gland there is the possibility of even one cell becoming cancerous and start growing very very slowly being undetected during one's life time. This is true of all and 'celebrity' has nothing to do with it!

Got a message my network operator was blocking me--would have loved to peak at the list.

My Gator ate it--nasty beast!

Very little is mentioned about the Survivor who has been treated for a period of time for PCa , then dies from a Heart Attack or Stroke. Nothing shows about the period of treatments involved.

Sumptins daint right, I don't see any women on the list?

One of the first things I did after being diagnosed was to research celebrities whose death was attributed to prostate cancer.

It's not surprising that celebrities die from PCa just like the rest of the population. I don't think it's relevant since we will all die from one thing or another anyway. What's the difference?

It really doesn't matter how you die, it matters how you live. We should all be learning to live life to it's fullest. As Mae West once said: "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."

Mae West also had another purported line relevant to prostate cancer patients, ... "Is that a pistol in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?" Just as with the loss or recovery of erectile function in prostate cancer patients, there remain to this day many uncertainties surrounding the details.

I don't think there is much to be learned about PCa by studying a list of dead celebs. And where is the list of not dead guys - for balance? What is the death:survivor rate for celebs?

I would think the famous have more money, more options, better doctors & better survival.

If they had to dig as far back as they did to get what they evidently thought might seem like a surprisingly large no. , I think the list actually proves the point that most men die w/ not of. I would like to have seen more medical info. I suppose the presumption is that celebs probably get the best Tx and if they die of it then more men do than generally thought. Fail.

Only men who don't die from prostate cancer end up dying from something else. That's my conclusion from this.

Ronnie Montrose, who's on that list, shot himself in the head (while having prostate cancer)
