Chemo took the cancer from my nodes and beat them down like a rabid dog. Cheer up, you 2 are just getting started. Go look for a dress to wear when you renew your vows again in 5 years, great sales this time of year.

I don't know how far you were in your treatments before you took chemo but do you think that you would have taken chemo at the very start - early on, in your treatment now that you know how well it took out the cancer from your nodes?

I was 6 weeks into my diagnoses when I started chemo and glad I did. I took the advice of Maha H. Hussain (Google her) . She is known throughout the world as a foremost prostate cancer oncologist and researcher. Once my cancer cells attempt a comeback, I'm going right back to another course of docetaxel (Taxotere) without hesitation. Personally I feel that some men wait until they are to weak to try chemo. I'm of the opinion the sooner the better. But, I'm just about the furthest thing you could imagine from being an oncologist. I'm rolling the dice on advice from people who study prostate cancer for a living. Only you can ultimately decide. Please don't take this as advice, I simply stating what happened to me. I had one oncologist tell me that I hit the "chemo lottery".

I totally agree. I took it early too and haven't regretted since. Been 5 years now and still undetectable. Two of my Oncologists says that I am lucky too. I was in stage 4 when I was diagnosed! So far I'm really happy - knock on wood.

I'll Google your oncologist and read what she has to say

Thanks for her name.

I took Xtandi for 20 months before my PSA starting climbing up from it's nadir, 0.07 and continued for another 12 months before I had to stop it. Xtandi is very similar to Zytiga.

Good Luck!
