Anything's possible, but to my knowledge your symptoms are highly unlikely to be PCa related. You might ask your MD to test your stools for Clostridium difficile (C.diff) -- a bacterial invasion that disrupts the normal flora of your intestine. Those symptoms match those I had. It's one of those "hospital bugs" that is damn difficult to treat successfully, took 9 months and finally a fecal transplant for me.

Loose stools and Constipation are both symptoms of bowel problems. Bowel problems may be related to cancer or infectious diseases or to other causes. Testing should be done by a specialist to determine what is actually causing your problems rather than simply guessing. Seek help and let us know how you do. Chances are your problem is easily diagnosed and treatable. Good luck!

What treatment have you had, radiotherapy can upset the bowels

As Bryan has said if you have had radiation therapy it can cause loose stools, etc. The rib pain should be checked out as it could indicate that there are some mets.

If you have a colonoscopy up soon, you can try to have it done sooner. Your colon can be closely examined by that procedure to discount any cancer related symptom. Rib pain needs to be examined for possible mets. Good luck and take care.

Are you currently receiving chemo? Ex had a lot of rib pain related to neulesta shots to increase WBC during docetaxel. Even though he has widespread mets, and a rule out trip for a PE to the ER, I believe the rib pain came from that. His mets hurt when he presses on those spots...
